According to Konami's earnings report for the period April-September 2008, PlayStation 3 posterchild Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has gone and sold itself 4.33 million times worldwide. That's 4.33 million gunmetal grey 'taches, 4.33 million Solid Eyes and 4.33 million flapping bandanas. Strewth.

The figure accounts for the bulk of Konami's game sales during the period - 11.75 million units across the globe.

Konami appears to be focussing on consolidation rather than new IP: its three priorities from this point on are to expand its global operation, promote existing franchises and develop online gaming services. Metal Gear Kart-Racing Online: NITROUS expansion pack, here we come.

Vg Chartz has it at around 3.35 Million.....so 1 Million units are ON the shelf....BTW this is perfectly possible... so no it isn't "undetracked" at all!

 I did read it.. but it says shipped and sold it slef 4.33 .. so that means sales? it should

Shipped = Sold to retail (Publisher sells to stores and distributors)

Sold = Sold to consumer (Store sells to consumer)

GTAIV had a well documented 2.5 million difference between shipped and sold, so one million difference is easily possible.
