What you've suggested is pretty much the worst movie ever. You cannot film a movie like a videogame, critics would pan it and those paying money to see it would hate it. It would be an automatic candidate for worst movie ever made.

Yeah, I would accept this is MGS weren't going for the whol "essentially cinema" thing anywya. In what way is Metal Gear Solid, cinematically speaking, fundamentally removed from film?

Christian Bale! I don't mind if he has been tied to other big hero movies already. He pulls them off well enough to make you forget about his past characters.

Orlando Bloom or Tom Cruise have the looks for a young Snake, but their voice is way off.

Shia LaBoeuf?!!! He can play Otacon :P
Eric Bana, Edward Norton or even George Clooney would be a better Snake than Shia!!!
