Well actually except the 3000 modles, pretty much every one of them is hackable... but yes, there is always a roughly 5% chance that you will brick your PSP. But then CFWs made by Dark Alex usually have recovery systems ;)

Oh, and of course, hack it, play old games that you cant buy anymore ( via emulators ) but PLZ, buy games... there are absolutly amazing exlcusives like Dead Head Fred, Wipeout Pure, Syphon Filter Dark Mirror etc. that you can get for 10$ or even less new ;)

SNES 9 for the PSP is by far the best SNES emulator :D Perfect, flawless emulation for great SNES games :D

1) Not much you can do without a Memstick. If your not aiming for a 8/16GB then the prices aren't bad at all.

2) Custom Firmware is the only way, and in order to do that you need something [special battery]. And there is some reading you have to do. I wouldn't hack it...

3) Final Fantasy 7: Crysis Core, God of War:CoO, Tekken Dark Ressurrection, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness

4) Alot. Pictures, Internet [not so great], RSS [podcast], errrr... there's alot, you just have to update to the latest firmware and check it all out for yoursefl....

Not if you do it properly. I've seen the process it's very easy. If you psp slim has a TA-088v3 mother board like mine then your screwed however since it can't be hacked... not right now anyway. When you try to turn it on with the pandora battery and Magic memstick you will just get a black screen.....

I don't get it... why do people automatically assume PSP... a Sony product, can play... "Nintendo games" from N64... Considering you can't even play N64 games on DS.


What I don't get even less is the fact people can suggest modding their system for piracy and get away with it... While I merely mentioning a particular system is moddable gets me warning from mods.

That's because the PSP is well known for being easy to to hack, look at this thread and you will see that manny PSP owners at least try to do it, i don't think that the same can be said about the DS (at least not that i know) and I DON'T want to play pirate PSP games, i want to play old games that i aready own.

@Falcon The DS is just as easy or maybe even easier to "hack" than the PSP. Much easier, and you don't even have to tamper with the actual system so there isn't a risk.
