Halo is one of the best FPS games ever, its easy and fun to get into, but crank it up to legendary and its insane, along with one of the best online networks with xbox live and everyplayer has a headset, its the most fun on any system, except for 4 player split screen goldeneye for the 64 :)

Shooter: I'd agree. The Metroid Prime series is a platformer/FPS. Plus, Halo is on the fringes of that ridiculously profitable genre of wargames.

What do you call a "pure" shooter? The biggest difference between MP3 and H3 is that one is focused exclusively on single-player and the other is focused largely on miltiplayer. If you believe that multiplayer is the soul of FPSes I believe you are mistaken but it would explain your assertion.
As for "wrong console", since the Wii has sold about as many consoles by now as the 360, and is about to leave the latter in its dust, I can only presume you mean that the 360 is well-known as a FPS console. I don't deny that -- but as you say, MP3 is a very unconventional FPS, and it may actually have an advantage in a fresh market.

None of those games you mentioned will have an effect on Halo sales. Gears isn't even a FPS. Different genre buddy! I know people that are going to buy 2 copies because they believe they're going to burn a hole in it from playing it so much. Trust me this game will do numbers! I see this game topping Halo 2 sales.

Alot of peoples favorite games are halo and halo 2
Halo and Halo 2 both won Game of The Year
Check Gamerankings.com or metacritic if u think it sold well because of marketing.
