Forums - Sales - Bioshock PS3 a bust?

Those of you who own a PS3, and didn't play Bioshock before on any platform, and are not pathetic fanboys, go play the game cause it will be an experience you never had before.
Ok, I understand it when a JRPG fan- FPS hater, doesn't reckon what this game is all about.
But, whow! when a gamer who plays FPSs comes to pathetic comparisons between Bioshock and other casual and uninspired shooters (count Halo 3 in, count Resistance - man this is below average without any comparison with Bioshock), then guys, only thing I have to say is, DON'T play the goddamn game. You don't deserve such quality.

Zen, you sure are showing your arrogance in this thread, I must say.

Goes to show that if you release a game on another platform, then port it over later, all of the hype is gone.

Thread derailment in 3.....2......1....

That's what I hated about last gen. The Gamecube got a ton of ports long after the Ps2 and Xbox versions were released. Much of the time, they were very inferior. Who's idea was it to port great games to the console with the smallest user base waaaay to late and expect a profit? (here it goes) When MGS4 Existence goes to the 360, I hope it has TONS of bonus content or it won't do very well either.

*flees thread in hot air balloon*

I would buy BioShock if it wasn't so determined to hate me.

I'll pick it up when THERE IS STOCK!

I don't understand the hype. The demo was good not great. I think there was some hype because it was not on the PS3.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

The sales of this game will be low because my guess is 50% of the people who own a 360 own a PS3 and they already bought it. There is surely not enough to justify buying ti again or $60.00 on the PS3.

If you never played the game then you are missing the game of the tear for 2007 and go out and buy it you wont be sorry

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Year old ports don't sell well.

Is it really hard to understand?

VF5 PS3 = .5 mil

VF 360 = .19 mil

And the same for any year old port on another console.

What-are-you-talkin-about.

Why the hell do you need hype for a game that was nominated game of the year from many magazines-sites and was bought from 2 million gamers on 360 (and who knows how many on PC) and played from even more?

The fact that didn't appeal to your tastes means absolutely nothing! And all you have to say is that it got hyped because it was not on PS3 in the first place??

Pretty ignorant and awkward way to anticipate a game dude.

@ DMeisterJ

You give an example of a game that was at its best average and was released on a platform that at the time had very small userbase, then ported to another platform with no beat em up background. How's that similar or even close to one of the best FPSs ever released????

Why would you buy an average shooter when Resistance 2 is on his way?

If I was you I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Resistance 2 to average greater than a 96/100 score.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
