Great points. I agree that even if all of Nintendo's games were rated M except for one, then they'd still have the 'kiddy' console. It's funny considering the appeal the Wii has for seniors.

i still play yoshi's island...i love the music(the most), gameplay and graphics.a perfect game
One thing I have noticed is that Nintendo is the most consistent large publisher/developer in the world ... Although not all of their games are fantastic, the vast majority of their games are average or better (with most being good or better) and a below-average (or worse) game is a very rare exception.

I mean anyone remember Yoshi's Story, probably the most childish looking game ever and it was great. Also Wind Waker.. Cel-Shaded but still one of the most epic Zelda's. These are just examples but I don't even want to go into Wii Fit or Wii Music. 5.) Despite people says that Nintendo "releases the same damn games," They will have some quality IP's every gen. The SNES had Starfox, for example. The Gamecube had Pikmin. 6.) There will always to a new Mario IP every new console. The SNES had Mario Paint and Super Mario Kart. The N64 had Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Paper Mario. The Gamecube had DDR Mario Mix, Mario Baseball and Mario Strikers. I can't for the next ones, personally. I'm sure there are more, I just haven't listed them. I'm glad I got this out of the way. If you don't mind, I'm going to give my Wii some playtime. |
you know with the N64 they came very close to growing up with the gamers of my generation i remember talking about it durring lunch in middle school back in the day, it didnt go over as well as they would have liked, then the cube derailed that. the wii, is a different path entirely i could see them growing up, but it will be with another console in the future, though they may just stay in the younger gamer area. no problem with that....
im far more interested if they will ever take the hand-helds they make to 3d, so far all handhelds have been designed mainly for 2d control (looking angerly at my psps one nub) i think they could storm that market with a true ds fallow up that is as powerfull as the wii, it wouldnt be a streach the chip is low power enough, it could even be die shrunk again, or gpu/cpu same chip with the respective age and development on both taken into account

I think this is the problem many people had with Yoshi's Story, me included, they were expecting a sequal of sorts to "Island" and it just wasn't. Yoshi's Story may have been a good game in it's own right but i for one never gave it a chance.
