Is Super Mario Sluggers undertracked? I did not expect it to be in the top 20 on NDP.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

@bigjon: I don't think so. It's also on 13th place in vgchartz September chart (it doesn't include last NPD week but SMS shouldn't suffer from it). More likely Madden (PS3, and especially PS2 version) and Kirby Superstar Ultra are undertracked a bit.

EA's Facebreaker TKO'd, Sells Just 52k

Facebreaker had a rough go of it in its first month on sale in the U.S. A Wii version is still scheduled for release, but so far the new IP has been poorly received.

The NPD Group has confirmed that EA's Facebreaker sold just 52,000 units in September across the Xbox 360 and PS3 combined. A Wii version called FaceBreaker K.O. Party is expected to launch in November.

Facebreaker's market performance was labeled "disappointing" by UBS analyst Ben Schachter. We agree. The game was supposed to represent what EA Sports could do with an all-new IP under its Freestyle brand. EA even went the extra step of putting EA Sports boss Peter Moore in the game. Somehow the game's over-the-top characters and arcade gameplay didn't click with consumers.

Wow,Dragon Quest IV kinda bombed ,and so did Slient Hill Homecoming who only managed a Top Ten mention at the end of the PS3-only chart ...

Warner Interactive's LEGO Batman was available for 12 days during NPD's September period, and three versions ranked in the top 20. The PS2 was the lead version at #12, and the Wii and Xbox 360 versions ranked #18 and #19 respectively for the month.

Given Mr. Pachter's earlier comments, we can say that the Wii version of LEGO Batman had sales over 100,000, while the Xbox 360 was probably just below 100,000.
