Forums - Nintendo - Played some N64 Yesterday

It's funny to hear anyone say anything negative about Goldeneye since I remember virtually everyone loving that game. It was/is one of those games where to say something negative was unheard of and could start a fight unless of course you were a PS1 fan.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

I love goldeneye. I just played it for the first time this year.

Ocarina of Time is way better than Twilight Princess. (no duh that's just my opinion... yeesh)

The one problem I had with Goldeneye was the controls. I much preferred the Turok control methods in which the yellow buttons made you move and the joystick aimed. The only reason most people preferred the Goldeneye controls was because it auto aimed vertically and most shooting took place on a purely horizontal plane.. If you actually wanted to try and shoot up or down, using the up and down yellow buttons was a pain in the ass.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

I said the same things the game is not as good as u remember

Just use the two-controllers control scheme. Problem solved, especially if you're familiar with dual analogue controls.

As to the original topic: Ocarina of Time isn't the best Zelda. It's not even the best Zelda on the N64...

Lol. I grew up playing Goldeneye so I can't empathize with people that say they can't play with inverted controls. I can't play with the normal controls. I still like that game though. Vigilante8 was so fun back in the day. I loved it. As for OoT, I'm not a big fan of that game. There's nothing specifically wrong with it...I just never saw what the big deal was.

I went to my friends house who has N64 and we played some "classics"

We started off with some Ocarina of Time and it was okay. Then we moved on to vigilantes i think it was called, kind of like Twisted Metal, it was fun but horribly outdated.

Then finished with some Goldeneye which was virtually unplayable. I guess playing an 11 year old game (1997) having played the great games we have today makes it look bad. But come on it was horrible:

1. I'm #1

2. The look is inverted and no option to change it

3. No dual-joysticks, instead you have to use those yellow arrows, which i mention are inverted!!!!

4. The game lags and slows down when your firing a fully auto gun

5. The remote mines are pretty sick

6. Brutal Game

7. The AK-47 looks like a pencil

8. The sound is way off, it sounds like you fired about 100 shots when you really fired 30 with the AK-47 for example

9. I'm #1

10. Back then it may have been good, today its lame

Conclusion: What you can take from this is I'm #1. Oh yeah, and that I finally played the game that nintendo fans claim to be the best ever (Ocarina of Time) and back then it may have been good. But today it was boring to play. They should re-make it.

Let me help you:

1: I'm actually #1.

2: Yes you can change it. I'm odd in the fact that when playing FPS games on the N64 I like inverted controls. So if my left hand is used for aiming it is inverted, while my right hand is not. Weird.

3: The C-pad isn't bad once you get used to it. I can make headshots pretty easily without autoaim, but that's because I play it a lot.

4: True, it sometimes does.

5: Yes they are, I like turning on invincibility and putting 10 next to a guard, and I watch him fly like an eagle... and drop like a rock.

6: Definitely.

7: Pencil? Okay...

8: Not really, it sounds like 30 to me. The RC-P90 is hard to tell, but fire a single bullet and you hear just one shot. So the sound seems fine to me. Also, I love this game's music.

9: Once again, I should mention how I'm #1.

10: This game never was and never will be lame. If it's so lame tell me why people still play it 11 years after it came out.

The people who claim OoT is the best ever are Zelda fanboys, not Nintendo. I disagree with them.

Flamebait thread much? This is like me going on the Sony forums, make a thread about playing some PS1 and it's "classics" (as he puts it) like FF7, Spyro, and Twisted Metal, talk about how they all look and play like ass now and then spout how I'm #1... anyone else see a problem with this?

Seriously both N64 and PS1 were great systems, both have very memorable games, some of the more innovative for their time, and they're still just as great. So really if you're going to troll and make flamebait go somewhere else, there's a reason you're getting banned coolestguy and it's not because anyone is jealous of you.

Yeah, I was just messing around when I said that. I don't know where he got the KF7-Soviet/pencil comparison though...

It pretty much only "snobcore" gamers who can't play old games and say that they are boring etc etc.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
