Here's a plain fact you forgot to add. PC's are great, consoles are good enough. That's it plain as day.

First of all, I'm only talking about getting a PC specifically to game. Like I said, every console owner in the world ALREADY has PC to use for school, work etc.

Buying a gaming PC from a store costs a lot more

Apparently, new gaming PC's can range from $1000 - $5000 but on this site the cheapest gaming PC they had was about $1500. Comparing that to the $300 360 I came up with this:

PC
$1500 + 50 games @ $40 = $3500

360
$300 + 50 games @ $60 = $3300

Now, obviously you're gonna tell me that you can build the $1500 PC on that site for a lot cheaper but I'm just trying to give you an idea here. Only if you buy more than 40 or 50 current generation titles will the PC be cheaper. And that's not factoring in the fact that PC games cost just as much console games on day 1 (not $20 cheaper like I used for my calculations), and that console games get price cuts, too.

So basically what I'm trying to say is; there is no way that PC gaming is cheaper than console, at most, they're the same price, but even that's stretching it.

The Wii kept me gaming when I was about to give up the hobby, but I SERIOUSLY pity any serious gamers who ONLY own a Wii. They're really missing out.

First, those Intel gaming PCs have included a monitor and speakers. If you are counting on the monitor, then you should include HDTV in a console's budget. Second, it's overpriced. Here's the Ultra PC that EA and Crytek advertised that came out last month:

It's almost as good as that $1570 Intel gaming PC, for less than half the price. Just plug it in your HDTV and you're set.

EDIT: Infact, this $700 Crysis PC is better for gaming than the $1570 Intel PC.

If it wasn't for the Wii, I'd be a DS only gamer, plus StarCraft 2. I didn't have a GC or GBA, and played StarCraft 1 for the entire 6th generation, along with the occasional Katamari, GTA, and X-Men Legends on friends' consoles.

Well, the Intel PC had twice the RAM, twice the hard drive, a monitor, and a couple other stuff, but OK, I see where you're coming from.

A 19" HDTV (about the size you would use with a PC) is $200.

Are you honestly still telling me that buying a new PC is cheaper than buying a new console?

The PC isn't cheaper, but you will save more money in th long run because PC games are way cheaper than console games.

On the other side, my PC was around 750 euros:

Core2quad q6600
Gigabyte EP35-DS3
4gb 1066MHz DDR2
ATi 4850 512MB
500GB SATA300 HDD
SATA DVD writer, coolermaster case, 600Watt Corsair PSU

We could safely say, that this configuration is capable of running every game at the moment, and pretty much smoothly.
It can also be said that this is more powerful than Xbox360 elite, which costs 500euros here.

So, for 250 euros more i get a more powerful machine, with more capabilities and cheaper games.
