Forums - Sales - Which will sell more hardware Fable 2 or Little big planet?

It proves nothing but sheds light that if I was a fanboy as you would label me as. I wouldn't own (or admit about owning) the system in the first place. In the name of fanboyism pride!

But thanks for telling us about the game and its nice features. Will get more people into it.

I didn't label you as a fanboy.

A. I try to avoid stating that straight out.

B. It's worthy of at least a warning on this site(hence the use of the word "ignorant" which as I've been informed by mods, is perfect acceptable, if you use it in the context of: "A person who doesn't know what they are talking about, yet speaks on the subject as if they do.")

I might have called you a 360 foeboy, or implied that you might be PS3 biased, but you were spouting off ignorances about Fable 2, what was I supposed to think?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

FYI, and I know this is off topic, but the Fable 2 review embargo is up sometime this coming Monday(which is lightyears away for me, considering I play Fantasy Football, and shall be on the edge of my seat the entire weekend).

Anyway, yeah, we should get some big reviews for Fable 2 by Monday night.

/cheers

I'll be drinking Miller Lite in an attempt not to obtain the sugar diabeetis.

...and as far as your popculture knowledge goes.....yeah, you should get this without having it explained to you.

I'm going to sit on the fence - it'll be close, but I think they will only sell between 4-5 million ltd at best. Wii Fit will be the real system seller this Christmas.

fable 2 has a bigger install base to sell to. first month sales will obviously be higher than lbp. after that is what we should be looking at in my opinion. i do think that lbp will push a little bit of hardware though.

i dont think fable 2 to be a system seller, halo 3 wasnt, gta4 wasnt, i see no reason why fable 2 will do it.

lbp will on the other hand be a system seller, but i feel its a kind of title that will have very good legs and will keep selling.

Halo 3 was a massive system seller, GTA4 wasn't exclusive.

Of course, Halo: Combat Evolved is considered by pretty much the entire sane population of the world to be better than Fable 1. The first Fable only got 86 on metacritic and 3 million sales, while Halo had 97 on metacritic and 6.5 million sales.

Having said that, it's still a next-gen sequel to a pretty well received Xbox game. If not for LBP and a BioShock port, it could put 360 into the lead for yet another week. But I'm afraid a sequel to a reasonably good game does not beat an innovative new IP with incredible critical reception. (EDIT: I know somebody's going to ask for proof of this, so just look to metacritic)

This battle goes to Sony.

The part that is incorrect about the bolded statement is that games like Beyond Good and Evil exist. Fair sequels to fair games(like Halo 3) with a lot of hype, sell the ass out of new IPs, generally. New IPs can be very successful, but proven sequels with hype, like Resistance 2, usually outsell their predecessors. It wouldn't surprise me if LBP did Fable 1 numbers. It wouldn't surprise me if Fable 2 surpassed those numbers. That's all I can say. I think you believing an innovative new IPs with great reviews sell like hotcakes, welll....they do if they're by Nintendo. They usually don't, though. It's an incorrect assumption.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I'm thinking LBP probably will. It certainly looks good.

lbp will sell more.
casual megaton> rpg megaton

LBP is coming on a PS3 bundle... i think that alone will outsell fable's HW sells.

fable 2 easily, why even ask the question?
