Halo 3 was a massive system seller, GTA4 wasn't exclusive. Of course, Halo: Combat Evolved is considered by pretty much the entire sane population of the world to be better than Fable 1. The first Fable only got 86 on metacritic and 3 million sales, while Halo had 97 on metacritic and 6.5 million sales. Having said that, it's still a next-gen sequel to a pretty well received Xbox game. If not for LBP and a BioShock port, it could put 360 into the lead for yet another week. But I'm afraid a sequel to a reasonably good game does not beat an innovative new IP with incredible critical reception. (EDIT: I know somebody's going to ask for proof of this, so just look to metacritic) This battle goes to Sony. |
The part that is incorrect about the bolded statement is that games like Beyond Good and Evil exist. Fair sequels to fair games(like Halo 3) with a lot of hype, sell the ass out of new IPs, generally. New IPs can be very successful, but proven sequels with hype, like Resistance 2, usually outsell their predecessors. It wouldn't surprise me if LBP did Fable 1 numbers. It wouldn't surprise me if Fable 2 surpassed those numbers. That's all I can say. I think you believing an innovative new IPs with great reviews sell like hotcakes, welll....they do if they're by Nintendo. They usually don't, though. It's an incorrect assumption.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
