and do they offer a wired ps3 rumble? (motion controlers would be silly wired so i know they dont have that)

I might be reading this wrong, but both the DS3 and Sixaxis have motion controls.  Anyways, I don't think there is a wired one, but you can already plug it in if you want.

hmm, id have thought that wire would screw with the motion controls, messing with the freedom of movement balacnce

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

dualshock does NOT equal xbox controller

+motion controls
+blue tooth vs wireless transmission
+rechargeable battery system included

Not to be a Microsoft fanboy but....

The one advantage there is to the X360 is the fact that 3rd party controllers are quite a bit cheaper. You can get the hard wired ones for well under $30 at most every store. Whereas I don't forsee Nintendo ever licensing the controller out (and to my knowledge, we're 2 years into the Wii's lifespan with no 3rd party controller for sale).

I am sure on the Sony side, there will be some cheap offshoots too.

It's amazing how costly controllers have got. Only the 3rd party X360 controllers remain anywhere near old school controller prices. I thought $20 was high for my multi-colored N64 controllers :-p

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I bought a 2nd Wii remote, but I have never used it other than for Wii sports so I didn't buy any more. I am very glad that I bought for new GCN controllers right after Wii came out. Brawl and Kart are the only multilayer Wii games worth playing so far (kart isn't even that good imo, and brawl while fun is not a big imporvment over melee) and both use GC controllers.

I bought my first DualShock 3 last week to join my 2 Six Axis controllers. Boy I was excited - I love the feel of the new controllers. I thought rumble didnt add much to the games but it does. Pure was a brand new game now that I feel the rumble of the engine!!

PS3 - $54.99

Wii - $39.99 Wimote + $19.99 Nunchuck = $59.98

XBox 360 - $49.99

prices from Best Buy for new equipment.

thoughts, wow if you add 3 controllers to a Wii system purchase to play those cool party games it becomes just as expensive as a XBox or PS3 purchase.

and is there ANY profit made for Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo on each controller sale at these prices?  (please no pure speculation - I can daydream too)

:O

And if you add 3 controllers to de ps3/X360...what do you get???

Come on...

The Dual Shock 3 is a little more expensive than the 360 controller because of the Sixaxis feature, although it has been available at Amazon for $40 for about the last 3 months. As far as profits I am not quite sure how much they make per controller. I would expect that Nintendo sells for near production cost as they sell their console at or above production, and they want a more at home social enviornment for the Wii. Sony and MS would probably be trying to gain a bit more per controller since they sell the console for below production. It would make since if that was the way things were, but that is just speculation. Sorry I know that you were not looking for that.

yea you got of love all the talk about others always stating how if so and so console was this price it would destroy the Wii and so on.

Yet then we have all these same topics talking about how the Wii is way more expensive with all the peripherals and everything.

Just give up guys. people will buy what they want and like, not what you think is the best. It doesn't matter how many features or good of a deal the machine is. If the person sees no reason why the would need those features why pay for them. I could go out and buy a bunch of bargin bin dvd's but why buy a bunch of dvd's i don't want.

They are a good deal, but since i don't want them then i'm just wasting money.

And also about the controllers. I think you are overestemating the Wii controler aspect. I personally have no four person games that use four numchucks. So you really only need 4 wiimotes for sure. And i have 3 numchucks, have yet to use one of them, been sitting in the packaging even still.

"if you add 3 controllers to a Wii system purchase to play those cool party games it becomes just as expensive as a XBox or PS3 purchase." (uh, 360 is cheaper even ignoring controllers)

Lets test this claim shall we?
Wii Play + 2 Wii Motes + 3 nunchuks + a Wii
= $440
A PS3 game + 3 Dualshocks + PS3 80gb
= $625

If I know anything about which number is bigger than the other number :p Sorry champ

Now lets test another claim
"dont forget motion plus for the wii probably 19.99 more"

Ahh, thank you for mentioning this.
Lets buy Wii Sports resort, and 3 other Wii motion pluses for the price they will actually be (10)
Giving a total of $80
But then we have an extra Wii game, so to counter it, we must buy a PS360 game at rrp
Giving a total of $60
Ok, maybe this claim has some validity, $20 dollars of validity to be precise
