I hate when some stupid developers think they could make easy money on those games. I would never play these kind of games. I feel sry for the PS3 owners who considered to buy this game.

It's not "easy money," a big part of the fees goes to servers and a development team to keep things updated, balanced, and bring in new stuff.

Ever heard of World of Warcraft ? They do make easy money and charge for "new stuff" (add-ons)

It's the duty of every developer team to patch the game if necessary and look at Criterion they bring HUGE updates for free.

it is a mmo, it makes sense !

so people pay for the confirmed WoW or the new WAR

but they will not pay for MAG ?

Time to Work !

And did you play WoW from day 1? Do you remember how the game looked then and what it is now? Nothing is the same since then. Did they have to update talent trees? Did they have to include BWL,AQ,Naxx, BT, Sunwell? Did they ahve to add new zones? Did they have to add all the new drops? I don't wanna wait a year to get updated if half the other classes that needed it more got updated earlier. I wanted my wildheart to look cool as early as possible.

MMO's have monthly fees associated with them incuding MMO's on the PS2. The only surprise here is that Sony is conducting a survey on the matter which indicates that they are considering having no monthly fees. Sony and the PSN have had fee based gaming before and if MAG turns out to be as good as it should then I will have no issues with paying for a subscription.

Meh, I'll just look for private servers and run my PS3 on that... if this game is good.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Well if this news is true the sales of this game will be low. Plenty of shooter games that do not require monthly subscription fees are available on PS3.

not that i don't love watching the ps3 fans squirm over this but...

1. this isn't confirmation of a subscription fee, yet.

2. how is this an MMO suddenly? 256 players in online matches make it an MMO? so what is R2 an MMO too cause it supports 60 players online...that's also a big number.

3. what do we really know about this game other than A) named MAG B) 256 player online C) ps3 exclusive. before you dismiss this game wait to see what you're actually getting. maybe it will support constant updates to maps/weapons to justify the subscription fee.

4. for fucks sake - servers aren't free and require constant maintenance. you want to play online using someone else's hardware? then expect sony/ms/nintendo to find ways to recover those costs.

So just what the hell is this game going to be? My first impressions from E3 and internet was it was going to be a game somewhat like battlefield but on a much larger scale. Are you going to be able to party up with other people (like EQ) is there going to be healers? Are you able to level up? Is there going to be a loot system? This game sounded sweet from the beginning but is it now going to be like Huxley?

It does look like a Quake Wars type but with 256 players in one game.

MAG will probably come out in 2010.
They showed a pre-rendered video of the game at E3 2008. So 2010 launch for MAG at the earliest.

Kill Zone 2 video was first shown at 2005 E3 show. It will be launched in 2009.
