if you think the wii needs a full line up of AAA games to sell well you need to think again. I have no (or little) doubt that the PS3 will outsell the 360 without a hiccup but its pretty unrealistic at this stage to think it will outsell the wii when at the moment, the wii has no games, and is flogging it.

Wii has top spot locked pending they have supply...

PS3 has a lot of nice titles coming out, but from September through December, 360 has a lot more exclusives (Especially September and November).

Blu-ray and the Sony brand name will help keep PS3 in the running for #2 though.

Should be interesting...

besides, xbox has Fable 2 and GeoW 2. It won't be easy beating that, alongside their recent price cut.

 

Wii music, i don't see it doing that great.. I gaurentee you, fable and geow2 will not be a system seller.

 

Then you have on some sort of blinders.  People throw around things like Little Big Planet will be huge or Fable II will be the bomb-diggity and we all laugh because it's based on opinion but we can all pretty much agree WiiMusic is going to be terrible and people are going to gobble it up like hot cakes until WiiMusic 2 comes out at which point it will slowly fade off of the top 50 chart over the next 6 months.

The Wii will be number 1 this season, again.  It's going to be a very tight race between the PS3 and 360 and I think it end up with the 360 taking the #2 price due to price.  They both have great games coming out this season and it's pretty pointless arguing which one is better but one is *much* cheaper than the other and that is what matters and something that cannot be argued.

Actually, I guess you can argue about the silly price of Live, no hard drive, and the WiFi adapter thing, but parents only see the $200 price tag versus the $350 price tag.

The PS3 doesn't have a great exclusive lineup? What are you talking about? I'm honestly baffled by this comment. I think you wandered into the wrong thread or something...or the wrong forums altogether. You must have meant to post that in another thread. That must be it.

 

 

His respone was more in response to the 360 doesn't have a good exclusive lineup this year comment.  Don't take things to seriously and realize lineups are completely based on opinions. 

Personally, I would agree that the PS3 has by far the worst lineup this year but that's just me.  Me not being too excited about many of the games on it doesn't affect your opinions in any way at all.

It is really to early to tell what will happen around mid October, but that is when things for this holiday will begin to shape up. They love Sony and really want to support them yet Sony has failed to give them the games they want. Out of pride they have avoided the Xbox brand for the last 7 years, however, with recent money hatting moves buy Microsoft, the Xbox brand is now getting many of the games they expect on the PS brand. Unless Sony has a card up there sleeve for TGS, I see it being a very bloody battle this winter in the land of the rising sun.

I beg to differ about Japan. So much so in fact, that I have to question your sanity. With the release of Infinite Undiscovery and Viva Pinata 2, Microsoft has almost no presence in Japan for the rest of 2008. The only games coming to 360 in Japan up until 2009 that aren't also being released on PS3 are The Last Remnant (A known timed-exclusive) and Agarest Senki: Reappearance (A low-profile port of a PS3 game). That's it. 2 games. Compared to the PS3 with Eternal Sonata, G1 Jockey 4 2008, Aquanaut's Holiday, Cross Edge, SOCOM: Confrontation, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Way of the Samurai 3, MotorStorm 2, and White Knight Chronicle all hitting Japan before 2009, 360 is going to get destroyed.

if ps3 was the price of the 360 the ps3 would snap the wii and 360 : ). but with how the ps3 is now i rekon it wont rival wii but it will comfortably outsell 360.... how come so many people are assuming that the 360 will 'for some reason' beat ps3 in the holiday season when the 360 gets beaten worldwide by ps3 nearly all year??

I hope you are right, I have just seen to many titles on PS3 get shit on in Japan. I know I am expecting somthing from LBP, Naruto, and WKC, but so far my hopes have been nothing but that.

Wii has no games? for 5 % of all gamers yes but for the rest 95% there's alot of games.

Everyone will have a good holiday lineup this time but common consumers don't know that much compared to gamers so when they see the Ps3 price tag they won't know it has more features and built in wifi, harddrive etc. They will just see how cheap the xbox is and buy it. My prediciton goes Wii>360>>Ps3
