Florida, land of old people, vacationing college students, and hurricanes...I'll pass.

Don't forget about the shitty weather.

I can't stand Florida. It's either too cold (inland areas) or too hot and muggy (everywhere else) and there isn't enough cool stuff to offset how much I despise the weather in that state. Besides, California has way better weather. And Florida is all swamps and flatland. Not very exciting.

With that said, I'll give the nod to Minnesota because Minneapolis is a great city. Not too big, decent people, and pretty cultural.

I've been to ~40-45 of the 50 states. If I had to pick a single city, I would probably flip a coin between San Diego and Minneapolis. Both wonderful cities for very different reasons. Some cities in Texas aren't bad either but I hate hot, muggy weather so I have to rule them out. Chicago has its cool parts, too.

Check out some of the resorts in VT - Jay peak, Killington, Stratton, Stowe. Great riding experiences =)

I've been to Killington. I loved the place. I hit every double black diamond they had. I'd love to go again, but I don't know when that will happen.

Conneticut. I live in the South btw.

New York actually has a bit of everything the beautiful winters, beaches, mountains hills, and a pretty tame weather system. It also has the best city in the world, casinoes, Westchester county(which is one of the wealthiest in the nation. 19 million residents.

New York wins hands down in my opinion.

Anyone saying places like NY and Michigan can't be serious. It's WAY too cold that far North. I think everyone can agree that a more mild climate (like NC or Virginia) is much better. I've loved living in NC. We've got 4 awesome universities in-state, the mountains to the west and the beach to the east, and BOJANGLES. You yankees really don't know what you're missing out on.

NY is actually quite nice temperature wise, a moderate mixture of each and heck some people prefer the cold and snow like people prefer beaches and summer, Its great all around.

Agreed. I get the best of both worlds. I can ski, sled, play ice hockey on the lake, and all sorts of fun things.

Then, the other half the year I get to go water skiing, wakeboarding, fishing, swimming, boating, and other fun summer stuff. So we get 50/50.

Now, if you said the same about Canada, then I'd agree

New York hands down. i cant imagine living in the suburbs, the big city is number 1!

I've traveled a lot, albeit mostly on the east coast but I like where I live in NC.

2 hours to the mountains, 2 hours to the beach, good sports teams, good education system (4 great state colleges within an hour of each other), and one of the best job markets in the United States. It's probably why it's consistently named near the top of the Forbes "best places to live" for the last 10+ years.

The poll would be kind of biased though because no matter what state you're in you can go from nice area to shithole usually within a 45 minute drive lol.
