Forums - Sales - VG Chartz Question: Do sales affect the enjoyment of a game?

it may not affect enjoyment but if sales are bad you may not buy the game in the first place

Hell no! check Shenmue I/II best game ever created on the best console ever made, not great sales for both.

Sometime I wonder, if it might be the other way around. I've been asking myself "How the hell could this game sell so well?" quite often these days.

I agree wholeheartedly, Its a real shame that shenmue 1 & 2 didn't sell well and its also a real shame the Dreamcast folded so soon considering it had some of the best games ever made available for it..............

On topic i'm buying PDC World championship darts 2008 this friday (19/9) and the first review of the game was 3/10 and it will be lucky to even sell 50,000 lifetime on 360 but thats not gonna detract me from buying it and enjoying it..........

The only games where amout of sales matters in my opinion would be multiplayer games. If there won't be anyone playing online, and that's what I want to get the game for...eh.

Single-Player games (God of War for instane) I could care less. Like someone else said - I'd be disappointed if it sold low because it would be much less likely to get a sequel..but I'd still buy it.

Personally I can't enjoy a game if it hasn't hit 2 million sales by week 4 but that's just me.

Just thinking about Breakdown's cliffhanger ending and it's terrible sales makes me cry :'(

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I enjoy games that are fun to play. its nice to know that if you enjoy a game and it sells well you will see a sequall but it has to be fun first

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

Of course not. Just affects my view of humanity depending haha.

depends on the genre.

if it's a single player game then of course copies sold won't impact the enjoyment of the game.
online multiplayer games, however, depend on quantities sold.

I like it when good games sell well (like Uncharted) but it will not change how much I enjoy the title

Yes. I won't play a game that sold badly cause that's all I can think about when playing it.
