No because one can feel inferior about all sorts of things, not just sales.

Wiifanboys are in many ways like the PS2 fanboys. Both are/were in huge denial about the capabilities of their system (many a PS2 fanboy actually claimed the PS2 had the best graphics last gen, and every wii fanboy claims that either the graphics are just a little worse, or they just don't matter). And both use obscene sales as a fallback position.

Wii fans further tend to have a bit of an inferiority complex about the lack of respect the unit gets from hardcore gamers, reviewers, and some companies.

Yes Mario Kart Wii,  Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy,  and Metroid Prime 3:Corruption are all horrible games. They're old IPs too.  Wow!!!  Maybe you're right .   It has crappy ports like Okami and Resident Evil 4 also.  It also has unplayable 3rd party showings like No More Heroes, Boom Blox, and Zack and Wiki (all old IPs right?)  You are right.  I'm selling my Wii today and getting a 360.  How could have I ever been this stupid?

i think the one group of fanboys that may be growing, as you correctly assumed, is the ps3 fanboys. but you gotta give them credit, at least when they subsist in impartiality, for backing a system that is really seated on the launchpad right now poised to overtake the 360 when everyone from the start said ps3 would fail.
Look at how the red sox have such a rabid fanbase, previously a group of underdog mishmash with a bite and claw attitude for winning.

First, I skipped all after the OP, as I knew it was going to be a discussion I'm not interested in.

Still, I believe the situation is a bit different.

Ps3 owners haven't become a lot more annoying (I refuse to use the word fanboy), but rather that the amount of them has increased. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=41845

Today, I believe there are more Ps3 owners than Wii owners on VGChartz (not by a lot though). X360 comes in a distant third.

But, the case is that a lot more Wii owners have awesome replies (ala, TWRoO, noname2200 and. Rol ), that don't show any bias (or little in some cases), but still prove others wrong.

There are also a few X360 people who are awesome, but there are near none for Ps3.

This isn't to say that Ps3 owners are less intelligent than the others, but that there is a lack of top notch posters that favour the Ps3. Add that with more Ps3 owners who have no clue, and they appear to be the most "fanboyish".

not to offend the wii and it's capabilities, those games are the polar bears of the video game world.

but i do agree that 360 has an amazing library, even though i have one, i still kinda deny it because of my intense voracity towards MS. just like the pres. race, i would pick sony, the lesser of two evils (when it comes to corporations.)

When the Wii got new IPs....they flopped hard. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The reuse of their typical first party isn't what's making it sell, otherwise the GCN and the 64 would have DOMINATED the competition.

I agree about the Wii part. I've played most of these critically aclaimed games, and only ended up liking 4 games: Resident Evil 4, SSBB, Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart. Resident Evil is a PS2 port, SSBB and Mario Kart's predecessors are way better. Super Mario Galaxy was golden though. The rest of them, I didn't like. PS360 is where my gaming needs is at :D

i really doubt that there are more ps3 owners here than anything else, in fact i would say that ps3 is near to last of what people on vgchartz owns.
