wii music will NEVER be forgotten.

I try to look at arguments from all points of view, and concede the least little point the other side has. I've actually never played many of the Tales games myself, but I know better than to generalize, because generalizing is never correct and always ignorant. Especially when I do it, because I'm wise enough to know better.

MKWii ( the surprise one, to a whole generation of gamers this will be like the SNES mariokart)

Gears
Halo 3 ( because it's in the Halo series)
LO (for being the only high standing RPG of the whole 3 first years of HD)

MSG ( cause of the series and Hype)

Uncharted ( or not... as a non PS3 gamer I have no idea what that game is...)

brain training

Justice series ( cause casuals like it as well as regular gamers)

Call of duty 4 (cause you heard about it even if not playing games)

graphics are easily forgotten but gameplay never is, too bad most game companies go for the first one leaving no space for the other one.

This is the dumbest article I have ever seen.

According to wikipedia, there were 779 games released for the NES. I doubt if everyone on this thread put their heads together they would be able to come up with a list of 100 NES games, let alone half of 779.

Of course most games won't be remembered. Only the best of the best are worth caring about 20 years down the road, and only 1% of games even come close to being the best of the best.

This list will be flamed to hell and back if the fanboys pick up on it, I fear. Certainly I have several disagreements with it, but I'm not gonna touch this one, lol.

Once again, gaming was in the egg during atari, but gaming infancy was really the NES era. The fondness, nostalga, and untouchable myth of games like Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, Castlevania, and those kinds of games won't ever be forgotten. Even when better games come along. If you think more people are gonna remember, or even know about MGS4, than Duck Hunt, then you're crazy. I use Duck Hunt because it's a below average game tacked on to Super Mario Brothers, but manages to be remembered by virtually everyone, everywhere. It will be remembered long after Bioshock and MGS4 have faded from the collective consciousness of the public. For new gamers, this current gen won't be their "mario brothers" they will simply grow up hearing the mythos and legend of the original hits like Chrono Trigger, Link to the Past, Super Mario Brothers, and Duck Hunt.

We're not talking about events that refresh themselves over time. Gaming is a being, and its infancy will always be remembered more fondly than it actually was. Thus, early games will never be eclipsed, despite better games being released, because early games have the added bonus of not having to live up to their hype, and always being lovingly remembered as the first, best games.

Telling me MGS4 is going to be as well remembered as Mario Brothers!? That's like telling me Amy Winehouse will be as remembered as the Doors, the Beatles, or Nirvana. It wouldn't matter how good she was, she'll never beat the mythos of excellence or simple interest surrounding those bands.
