In case anyone wanted to know, this is the current standing (I might've miscounted, but I don't think so. Also, I didn't count people who said that two games tied.)

Metroid Prime - 28
Halo CE - 14
God of War - 12

What people seem to forget about Halo is that it put health regen over time on the map. Before halo you would have 100 health and would have to get health packs to fill up instead of just hiding and waiting for the bar to refill.

Tell me how may FPS utilize this now? Almost all of them it has become basically standard.

That is one of my biggest complaints. If your character moves as slow as a 90-year-old with Parkinson's, then there shouldn't be health regen in Multiplayer. It'd be fine if you know, Master Chief could actually run at the speed of Quake and Unreal Tournament so that when someone turns around the corner the fight doesn't basically reset. For single-player it's pretty nice, but only from a developer stand point. It's easy to create encounters in a game when you know the person will always have the specific health before the encounter and he won't have less, or more.

Also, Halo 2 was realeased to the PC only several months after its Xbox release and that bombed on the PC as well. It's a mediocre game in a genre with tough competition. It was the best FPS, for consoles, but that's like saying a person with 2 feet is fastest on the track in the paraplegic Olympics. Metroid was a whole new experience that did not try to imitate anythign on any other platform.

I don't know if i'm the only one who wasn't a fan of gow. It had some step-ups but at the end of the day was a hack'n'slash button masher with some twists. Nothing more (imo). I always played fps's on pc's so halo wasn't that big a deal for me, even tho it had some good AI. Therefore:

@Vlad. Yea I never played Metroid Prime though I would like too. I was just tossing a point out for the game I have played.

I never have a problem with killing/finishing guys off. I just know when to engage and when not to engage. I mean yea there will be many times I see people in Halo and just completely ignore them.

Also Halo popularized first person online gaming to consoles and to this date are the only ones to have well balanced vehicles in any online fps console that I have played. (I am sure warhawk has great vehicle balance, but look at Battlefield: Bad Company they blew it imo.)

Hot button for grenades, melee attack, not being able to carry every weapon on the board at once, making your starting weapon a viable one, etc...

I have played God of War for only like 30 minutes and I loved that game. Just need to get a ps2 again so I can play them both.

God of War changed my life, while I did not even like Metroid: Prime. Don't even get me started on Halo.
