The World Trade Centers were glorious works of engineering. I wish the new buildings at ground zero were even more glorious. Taller, wider, more advanced.

@mesoteto

Nobody cheers for Goliath unless they are in the same army. Think about that for a while.

Too bad they wont be...It will be the Freedom tomer , which is fugly IMO.

I wish they would just rebuild them. exactly the same.

Yeah. That would of been the best option probably.  Well on the outside the same... on the inside... better structuring.

please do explain, its easy to just say that but not back it up

do you know we could have avoided all of it if we hadnt been so cocky and high and mighty, we knew something was coming and still did nothing to try and protect ourselves

the only crime of 9-11 is that so many had to die b/c of arrogance and politics

Christ, why don't you just take it to the Daily-Kos. Blaming the general American populas for muslim extremists is a completely ignorant and misinformed generalization. There's a reason Obama threw Wright under the bus. This is it. It's self depreciating. Saying that 9/11 isn't a crime. Saying that American deserved it. Acting like those people deserved to die, because of some ignorant generalized sense of karma. That's american-hating liberalism, and far left secular-progressivism at its finest. I suppose income redistribution and a one world government is your next rant.

The terrible thing is you actually try to defend your stance as if there is no counter-argument. Here's one for you:

What you say is ignorant. 9/11 was a crime. It wasn't a good thing. It was comitted by muslim extremists who defile the state of Islam. Odds are, your views on the matter stem more from a deep seeded hatred for America, rather than the facts, and your generalizations are nothing more than you've read on a web-site or seen in a movie that depicted America as the great evil super-giant that destroys all good in this world. I won't get into an ideological debate with you about America, but I will say that no man has the right to take another's life for an ideological theory.

Your assertion that it's OK for muslims to do it, and not ok for America to do it, no matter what the motivation behind those actions, makes you a big ole hypocryte, now don't it?

9/11 was a crime. Obviously. If murder is a crime. Wheather or not we deserved it, I'll leave up to your cool-aid drinking far left socialist secular-progressive ACLU talking points.

Don't toss all liberals in with the stupidity of the few who say either A) 9/11 was some weird conspiracy to make someone money or B) 9/11 was our fault because we were too....something...in the arab world.  The idea that we as a sinful society are to blame is stupid but actually shared on the far right and the far left fringes.  The far left says its because of our sin of neglect of the 3rd world (among other things) and the far right says its because we let gays march in parades and give women too many rights (see Pat Robertson among others, or McCain friend John Haege).  Both are equally stupid and crazy, but neither are the standard bearerfor everything their parties stand for.

I would say 9/11 was our fault, but not us as Americans, rather the fault of our leaders in part for not being prepared enough.  Rudy, Mr. noun, verb, 9/11 sentence structure, INSISTED after the WTC bombing in the 90s that the emergency headquarters for first responders be moved into....the WTC.  How stupid can you get?  Bush ignored memos that said things like "Bin Ladin Determined to Attack US".  Bill Clinton bombed their terrorist training camp (remember the missles that conservatives said were meant to distract from the Monica thing?  They were aimed at Al Queda instalations) and Richard Clark, a holdover from the Clinton administration, spent months trying to get the Bushites to take Al Queda seriously.  The FBI knew about arabs taking flying lessons and not being interested in learning how to land, about them illegally entering our country, but noone at the top cared enough to follow it up (this was all on the post January 2001 Republican watch).

9/11 is NOT our fault as Americans, but the fault does certainly rest in part with the leaders at the time both in NYC and in the white house.  This idea that the bafoons who mess up time and time again in the case of both terrorist threats (9/11) and National disasters (Katrina) are the only ones that can keep us safe is sickening.  If Bill Clinton had beein in office and recieved a national security memo titled "Bin Ladin determined to attack US" you can damn well bet he wouldn't decide to go on a month long vacation to clear Brush at his ranch.  Even Bush Sr. wouldn't have been that dense and stupid, he would have followed up sensibly too and probably prevented the worst of it.  I'm not saying ALL republicans are inept and don't care enough about America, just this lot in charge right now which is why it is so important we purge them from the halls of power once and for all.

If 9/11 is overexposed and taken as a joke by some people (which it should NOT be) it is largely because it is exploited at every turn by the SAME bafoons who let it happen.  Rudy did not undertake a SINGLE anti terroist initiative even though the WTC had been targeted just a few years prior and he's running on his stewardship of New York around the time of 9/11 THAT is a joke, but should not be confused with the actual attack being a joke.   The failed strategies of the Republican party are living on borrowed time and riding 9/11 for all its worth, its quite morbid and sickening really.  Every election they trot 9/11 out again and try to use the dead to keep themselves in power, the very definition of ghoulish.

thank you for making my point

i dont think that me wanting to listen to my i pod while sipping some starbucks is what got our country attacked

our government stcking its nosie where its shouldnt be is what did it, its does in fact go back to what i said

the american nation was poking a bee hive and not caring who we pissed of, we have made tons of enimes in this world and for some reason we just assumed no one would ever want to push back b/c we had the bigger army

it was just ignorant of our government to sit there and say well we have x amount of soliders and nukes so no one will poke us in teh chest, hello!!!!!!! wake up call all it takes is one man determind and twisted to bring down a building we saw it before in numerious bombings from our own soil......

@

ZenfoldorVGI

you seem to make the incorrect assumption that we are the inocent victim as a nation, in this case the only innocents were the john and jane smiths that got up and were in those buildng and And those on the plane that died that day, I am sure no one asked them “hey I am going to riley up some possible terrorist and they might strike back at us b/c of it, are you willing to suffer for this, how about your families?”

Instead our government made the choice for them then trained up and ignored the problem until it flew a jet into one of our buildings, then another, and almost a third….

I don't believe that the terrorist attacks on September 11th had anything to do with what Americans did, or what values and beliefs Americans really hold.

In many parts of the world people's faith (in particular the Islamic faith at the moment) is used as a tool for corrupt regimes to retain power; in many of these places people are poor on a level which makes people on welfare look rich, and (as you can imagine) there is quite a bit of misery associated with poverty on this level. One of the most common ways for a corrupt regime to maintain power is to find someone else to be the root cause of everyone's problems, and to use them as a scapegoat. Because of their support for Israel, their 'loose' moral code, and their amazing wealth Americans are one of the prime scapegoats around the world.

Now, when you take someone who is raised to hate the United States (and who's parents, family and friends were all raised to hate the United States) and has difficulty maintaining a decent standard of living for his family, and you give him and his family an unimagineable sum ($20,000) and tell him that he is doing "Gods Work" and will be greatly rewarded in the afterlife if he just kills these evil Americans he will do it.

Changing your foreign policy will not do much to prevent terrorism because it is likely that people who are being told that the US is evil have no knowledge of what you're doing on an international scale.

Yikes. Blaming America for 9/11 is kind of like blaming the cock teasing sorority girl that wears a slutty outfit and gets wasted with a large group of college guys for being raped. On one hand, yeah she's kind of kind of asking for it but you'd be a dick for blaming her because it's obviously the college guys' fault for being rapists.

Yeah America has been stupid with some of it's parternships, and yes there was a definate lack of intelligence and action on what intelligence there was. But they were still terrorists and they are the ones that flew planes into buildings.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

i guess i have to be a dick then

i think its bad what happend to her and i would like to get her the help she needs, should she not have made those choices hell yes!

should the guys who commited the crime be punished , 2x hell yeah

*edit* i see it more of like this, watching a little kid running with scissors and being told he could get hurt, then the little kid giving you the finger and picking up the pace, he trips and falls and losses a eye, yeah you feel bad for him but at the same time he had the warning signs  in front of him not to be doing it

9/11 is horrible, however worst things have happened in the world before and after it.

This.... cmmon, it was so overmediatized. Yes it was terrible, but it finally showd the USA that they are not untouchable. Also, compared to most tragedies the death poll wasnt even that high...

what really bugs e about the situation was when we were attacked we expected teh world to get up in arms and rally around us and put the situation on a pedestal, but when england got the underground bombing we just brushed it off as a tragedy and and still expected them to be more concerned with our attack then theirs

i will never forget talking to my brother about that when the london bombings happend, he actually tried to turn it into a pissing contest "yeah they got bombed but we had more dmg done to us" i lost it its not who bleed more but the fact that we bleed for the same reason, well actualy that is not true

you guys bled for us and we never said thank you and were sorry being our friend brought this on you

Wow. just wow. Holy f***ing god. what the HELL is wrong with you people? Why don't you just go out and say Pearl Harbor was America's fault because we decided to cut off oil shipments to Japan? And why don't you guys ever remember that if it wasn't for this country all of you would be speaking German now, TWICE.

actually pearl harbor was a true conspiracy, and one that many claim is the backing for why 9/11 was a conspiracy.

the american people at the time did not want a war, it was the last thing on everyones plates so soon after the depression...however the government knows, as do most people that wars help the economy (even Bush's war if only slightly)... orders were sent out to send the most important naval ships out to sea on "training excercises" at night without the lights on and remain in an unknown position while the base was almost completely empty (by comparison to a full shift) and the ships were all heavy duty 10year+ old battleships that had very little value as it was.

so now this is why people say 9/11 was conspiracy.

in the same exact manner, the building was attacked when it was relatively empty, nobody tried to stop the planes (which is really beyond me btw) cia claimed "complete failure of intelligence" (BS) and the attackers were cia trained!

anyhow, if you believe that kind of stuff, that's up to you, but a lot of it is very truthful and you will never know how smart or in depth these washington guys are. Karl Rove is the only one we know of. there are literally thousands of people with his intelligence working on america from the inside. so you shouldn't point fingers.

as for the speaking german thing, if you didn't know, if it weren't for france, we would all be speaking english, with stupid english accents and drinking hot water with slices of lemon.

FYI america, for the last 20 years, has been bombing AT LEAST ONE country in the world every single day.... you just don't hear about it. this is why the world hates us.
