Forums - Sales - 'Specs > Pricing' for HD console consumers?

I just wanted to see what kind of impact the recent 360 price cut had on amazon sales.

IMO interesting, currently (Amazon videogame bestsellers, just updated, previous listing was similar):

5. Playstation 3 (80 GB model) $399

23. XBox Elite (120 GB) $399

42. Xbox Premium ( 60 GB) $299

47. Arcade Core Bundle $199

All in stock. Thought this to be interesting, what do you think?

The answer to your thread title is no.

Well, on amazon things are the same, but how about Brick + Mortar.

I was all set to baby seal this thread up, but he's not talking about the PS3 outselling 360 due to amazon sales, just analyzing Amazon sales since all of them are in stock.

The need for seals come in when he brings Amazon up and says that the PS3 will beat the 360 this week in america.

well you can't tell whether all 3 360 models add together to more than the 1 PS3 model.

I think the PS3 benefits in this type of analysis since it only has a single sku at the moment.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

wtf ?? I heard some angry users gave bad reviews for the Spore DRM issues, but this is indeed horrible

If representative this seems to suggest that going below the 200 dollar barrier isn't as important as anticipated by many. If so, it looks like it would have been better for Microsoft to simply scrap the arcade/core models. This to benefit the premium and elite models (and indirectly also PS3 cross platform game engine design), enabling developers to rely on harddrive caching for designing their games.

I think one factor why the Elite seems to be doing relatively well may be due to previous 360 hardware issues. For example a friend upgraded to an Elite due to hardware issues with his premium, hoping this model is better designed.
