Just to add that Mclaren can't appeal a drivethrough penalty, which this was.

Yes, they can if the penalty was imposed in the last 5 laps of the race.

You can appeal to have a time penalty after the race instead of a drivethrough, but not to have it overturned.

Any sources for that?

No, the rule clearly states that if the penalty is commited in the last 5 laps, instead of being given a drive-through the driver is charged with 25 seconds, and is possible to appeal it. And I hope the appeal is succesful, this stupid decision shouldn't tarnish this excellent championship, even Niki Lauda called it "the worst judgement in the history of F1 "

Who, me or Niki Lauda? I've already stated that I think the penalization is unfair and that the FIA is clearly benefiting Ferrari. As for Lauda, I dunno, it may be a bit of exaggeration (it probably is, as unfair as this thing is, there has to be one more unfair at some point of history), but I think he got the basics right

That does seem a bit of an exagguration, but he knows more about the history of F1 than me!

@Kane, welcome to VG Chartz!

I would go for both....

I have found it really funny how the British press have spun this. There was very little mention of the fact that it was a mistake by Raikonen, and that he should of won, but every story was filled with fantastic race by Lewis... bla bla bla.... and he never did anything wrong. Sometimes it is nice to have some healthy bias, but this is twenty steps too far
