It took the DS about 200 weeks too reach 80 and about the GBA well it never did. The sales for it now are at 79.588.121 and it has been out for a little less then 400 weeks. So it took the DS about half the time too reach that milestone!
The GB… well compared too these two monsters its nothing.
The DS is a monster and its not slowing down so there is no telling what sales it will reach and for how much longer it will be on the market as Nintendo’s main handheld. Currently for a handheld it’s about 6 years or so (please correct me if I am wrong). The DS might change that and make the lifespan even longer.
People talking about a redesign or a DS2… well think again. As long as the sales are as they are now a redesign or DS2 are not needed. For some it’s obvious for others not.
But then there is the Japanese market where the DS did slow down though it’s on top. But that’s not it, it’s about saturation and it has already sold more then the PS2. How much longer will it be selling there? Will Japan see a new handheld long before the rest of the world dos?
Go DS!!
