Forums - Gaming - In America- Why? 360 vs. Wii/PS3

Well, we Americans as a whole are 360 biased for no good reason. Why? Same reason why Bush is president, and why America has the highest teenage pregnancy rate, or why we're the only first world country where like 90% of people are religious.

America just doesn't make sense. :-/

Stores:

It's because they have 360 in stock most of the time.

Online:

Still haven't figured that out.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Last time I check Gamestop monopolized the Gaming stores to make their hands on any brand whether it be Console, PC or even handhelds. When I go to Gamestop I see PS3 signs with MGS4 bundles and more. I don't know what you're seeing. The Xbox 360 wall is going to be huge, kinda like the PS2 wall but less spectacular because in that gen Sony had all of the 3rd party games because of it's installed base. You just hate the fact that Microsoft made up for their debut to console gaming with the last Xbox. Get over it. It has NOTHING to do with America. Your uneducated and terrible investigative skills annoy me.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and Army of Two are both PS3 games.

because asians buy ps3/wii, and us asians are minorities...sniff sniff.

Yeah I think it has to do most with company relations. I believe this has hurt Nintendo a lot in the past. Last generation was a huge gap, but I wont get into that.

With the Wii, it has it's own way of advertising outside of the store, basically new people are coming to the store for the wii. Sales in the shop are pretty much going to be what they will (for wii) reguardless of store's model.

So then there are the PS3 and XBOX360. Given the two which pushes more software? which has a greater customer database? and which has the highest sales ratio? XBOX360 kills PS3, so If I had a store which would I put to the forefront? XBOX360. It's just business sense.

Xbox 360 games sell the most in those stores? So therefore its much more profitable to promote Xbox 360 games more thouroughly?

Tease.

As a Gamestop employee I can tell you it is a little bit of both. Partially the relationship with the console company and other half bias. In my store, Nintendo rep is always in our store promptly whenever we need something. If one of there system displays is broken they fix it fast. MS is not as quick but still pretty fast. Our 360 system has gone RROD about 4 times since I have worked there. They are sure to replace it when it does. Everytime a big game comes out though managers at most stores play the new game in the 360 instead of the PS3. MADDEN for instance. Madden is multiplatform but most managers at gamestop dont bother with the PS3 version but instead only display the 360 version. The PS3 in my store personally has had the same demos since launch on it till recently.

In short Sony is not quick when it comes to getting the games advertised for there system, they only do it every blue moon. MS and NIN are much more prompt with it. Add a little bit of store bias in there and it comes to one company or the other getting overshadowed.

I hope your kidding.

My guess is that because the 360 is much bigger than the PS3 in America, it gets more attention from game stores. And while the Wii is even bigger than the 360, the Wii is going out of its way to court the mainstream, whereas the 360 is content to stick with the old base of young males (which is the same demographic that Gamestop primarily caters to).

Check out the Walmarts, Best Buys, and other big box stores, and you'll see that it's the Wii that's favored over the HD consoles, because that what those stores' customers are looking for.
