Yeah I think it has to do most with company relations. I believe this has hurt Nintendo a lot in the past. Last generation was a huge gap, but I wont get into that.

With the Wii, it has it's own way of advertising outside of the store, basically new people are coming to the store for the wii. Sales in the shop are pretty much going to be what they will (for wii) reguardless of store's model.

So then there are the PS3 and XBOX360. Given the two which pushes more software? which has a greater customer database? and which has the highest sales ratio? XBOX360 kills PS3, so If I had a store which would I put to the forefront? XBOX360. It's just business sense.
