The Germans. They started WWI and WWII and lost both. Wouldn't put it past they to try again to at least salvage some dignity.

Actually Germans didn't start WWI.. Cause for WWI was assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria which lead to activation of alliances.

And to the question I say that humans probably kill themselves in the end. Humans are so violent species.
