1up has stated many times that their new grading scale does not convert directly into a numeric grading system.

Well at my university, it's pretty much the same as Euphoria's. An F is anything below a 60.

Then sites like Gamerankings and Metacritic should not use them in their overall averages. As it looks to be that they just take a wild guess on what they think these letters mean, considering both sites score these letters differently.

Here is the thing with mine. They start to get rid of you if you get below C average so that is 65.....

You get C average you are put on a list if you don't improve your average to B average you are fucked, and in most cases you are fucked as soon as you get below the C average.

So they do give you a chance....horrible one at that.

This game was set to be one of the highest rated Rpgs this gen but Metacritic is reatarded.

Now think if they didn't have graphics to bash it on. To have the dated graphics it has and still sit at an 80 is quite a feat IMO. Goes to show how good the game itself must be.
