I'm pretty sure only the first one is exclusive, though I could be wrong.
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Lol well this has to be the most narrow-minded and shallow post of the day. Man I bet you could convince yourself anything. GTA hasnt exactly had groundbreaking advances in the game throughout the last few games. The game being on the PS3 only would have meant less ppl would have been disappointed. But im curious as to why you think if it was PS3 exclusive that the game would be better? If you say graphics then you need to jump in front of traffic. |
Well, since they couldn't make full use of Blu-Ray's 50 GB capacity thanks to having to consider the 360 version, they had to leave out all the good stuff and release the version that disappointed so many people. I mean, it's so obvious!

Yeah, they only needed a hundred million dollars to create the assets to fill up 7 gb's...
Microsoft paid fifty million dollars for two exclusive DLC packages. That would be twenty five million a piece. One would highly doubt that those packages are not worth every cent that Microsoft paid for them. That is enough money to cover the budget of two very good game on the 360, and enough money to cover the development costs for four average games.
I find the rumor very interesting in that it may prove what has been said earlier. That these expansions in fact will be closer to full fledged games. We have to remember this generation Grand Theft Auto will only have one game to it, so these packages are probably closer to a Vice City type of installment rather then what we have come to expect from other DLC.
Anyway I expect the game to have ten hours of story missions. A couple new online modes. A dozen new random encounters. Additional equipment, vehicles, virtual content, random encounters, and collection quests. Which should probably take the package over twenty hours of play. Which means it will probably be at parity with my price consciousness if it indeed is going to be at this price. Which is a dollar per hour of play. This is the most major factor in gaming purchases for me.
That said even if this is the price when it launches those who do not own a 360 should make themselves aware of something. The prices on Live will and do eventually decrease. Perhaps after six months on the market, and with its brother near release this content may go down to 1200 points, and perhaps a year after that it might be all of 800 points. Then maybe in two years you might be looking at free content, or something for less then 400 points. So if a price is too high for you then you can wait until it is right. Perhaps in the middle of next year when you are really craving Grand Theft Auto.
If it's an expansion it should be considerable. Any other game that has an expansion is usually of considerable quantity. To those that say GTA 4 is boring, it's certainly better than the other GTA's. People who love GTA will certainly want the DLC.

I was so bored making it through the game that I couldn't give a crap about the DLC, especially DLC that's going to cost money. |
It's going to add over 10 hours of Storyline/gameplay, new cars, clothes, etc. It will most likely be worth it.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it VERY doubtful that they are just going to throw it on XBL and say "oh, hey! We have new exclusivez GTA Contentz". More than likely, they will merge a GTAIV + DLC disc, and a DLC standalone disc, and market the heck out of it. During November/Christmas rush.....What do you think will sway the audiences? A $40 uber-disc of GTAIV? I think so. Or better yet: GTAIV + DLC as a pack-in for the Holiday bundle, ala Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. |
Yeah, Microsoft and Rockstar are splitting the profits 30/70

I totally agree and on another note. SR2 is going to be pretty damn interesting well.

If I already had a great product gameplay-wise i'd take more money over exclusivity to a console for the sake of graphics. Everytime I hear a Sony fanboy talk about graphics, it makes me think about how sad they really are pushing its graphics when last gen they had to fight with Xbox fanatics because of the PS3's inferior graphics yet impressive installed base and exclusive 3rd party games.
