Didn't the 360s get sold out? Would they have been restocked so quickly?

For a XB360 game, perhaps ToV is selling well, but for a Tales Of game, it's selling very badly.
Namdai must be crapping its pant with how they are destroying their series, now that they realise what they've done. They already destroyed it on handheld, so they pretty much know what they have to do now.
ToV, a main game with far more development time and money spent on it than ToS:KoR, an escort game, sold way less!
That's without taking into account that ToV profited from one week holiday (Obon lasts from 13th to 15th of July) where traditionally game sales are higher than normal. And it didn't even reach the 2nd week of, again, a far less prominent Tales Of games on Wii in a normal week. At least preliminary data shows that, I'll wait MC numbers to be sure.
People can spin the numbers all they like, but they're abysmal even for a Tales Of game.
It seems like there's a logical process going on when a japanese XB360 title is actually timed exclusive: the game is very quickly ported to NA and Europe, even faster than Blue Dragon was.

Did you play the demo? After beating the dog, that whole ocean scene. Absolutely beautiful. Stuff like that would to be done in CG for the Wii or gimped. And I thought Wii owners complained about gimped ports.

I hope you aren't implying that the Water is in game. That is most likely all pre-rendered. As for everything else the textures and polygons are simplified for the Cel-Shading , and I've seen some GC games with a higher polygon count. Textures are nice though, but doesn't seem to be anything the Wii couldn't handle.
For reference...Blue Dragon dropped to #39 from it's debut at #4, posting a 78.1% drop from the previous week. If numbers are true, ToV will post a 83.0% drop.
There would be a few reasons that the PS3 may get a boost this week for 'no apparent reason': It's Obon holiday. Every system gets a massive SW and HW boost this week. Unfortunately for the X360, it's still sold out, it seems.
And having said that, if the X360 is indeed supply constrained (still), that would mean that new owners that most likely want a X360 and Tales of Vesperia, are unable to get a new system and copy. This may cause the strong drop, as there are still wannabe X360 owners out there that want to buy the game, but have no system to play it on.
At any rate though, speaking for ToV, the drop isn't surprising. It IS a Tales game. Most Tales games see 70% of their LTD sales in their first week. I predicted ToV to hit 150k before everything is said and done, which seems like a very solid prediction.
Oh, by the way: ToS2 for the Wii had a 83.8% drop it's first week - higher than what The Source has projected for ToV. Not too bad considering the Wii has around an extra 5.5 million consoles that consumers could of bought the game for.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
A 2k rise for the PS3 is pretty big when you are going from 10k to 12k.
That's like 20 percent more.
Now if it was 100k to 102k, 2k isn't much of a difference, but with the low numbers PS3 is posting, that kind of increase is good.

If that is true then ToV actually missed the holiday. In truth however Obon is celebrated for some in mid July and for others in mid August. Then you go on to compare the 360 sales to the Wii which has an almost 6mil lead in userbase. Not to mention there has been talk of supply constrain on 360s in Japan since Microsoft failed to anticipate demand. I don't think you can really make a fair comparison here.
Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

TOV will be ported to the ps3 just like Eternal Sonata honestly how many games have been prted from the 360 to the wii(a handful wiht very few selinga as well) 360 to ps3 port is much more common especially since Namcogames on average sell better on the ps3 with the exception being SCIV.
I expected the huge drop for the 360 people who thought otherwise were dillusional still not as bad a drop off as the wii tales game but that did open substantially better. PS3's boost was pretty good though considering nothin noteworthy was released.
@Beja-Beja That is because most games would have to be downgraded significantly to go on the Wii. Tales is different though, because if there is a downgrade it probably won't be a big one. The Tales of Fans most likely own a Wii rather than a PS3 for Symphonia DoTNW, and the Next Main Series tales that will be coming to the Wii. Also the Wii has a much larger install base, and would be cheaper/easier to port.

Really? Considerin Vesperia is basically following suit of ToS2, I think its selling quite decently for a Tales game, considering the Wii fanbase is multiple times larger. Also, Tales of hearts has sold roughly the exact same amount in the exact same time. Tales of the tempest sold worse.

@wii hopefuls: I'm gonna suppose none of you have even looked at the official ToV blog at IGN. They constantly talk about how the supperior hardware has allowed them to do much more with the game series then ever before. The Wii is awesome, but really, this argument is dragging into the ignorant zone.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Seriously, Soriku? Using Youtube to watch HD videos is a waste of time. The quality is just terrible.
