Far scarier, and also, very slow. I'm glad RE4 was released the way it is now, not like this.

looks like they have a mix of still and fluid backgrounds. nice to see. i'd pay a pretty penny to play this gam.e
both games would have been awesome. If the next one returns to its 'roots,' i'll die happy. I always thought RE0 was the best one. (just a tad biased)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best Zelda title ever made.

This one looks cool, but way too slow-paced compared to the direction they did choose. I think it was better for the series overall that they made the choice they did.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
Looked good, certainly more scarier then anything RE4 put out, but I still prefer RE4's control scheme and you could tell that this game would have suffered from poor camera angles if it had been released.
Apparantly RE4 had 3 ideas that were scrapped. What you see today is their fourth go on the game... kind of ironic, being that it's RE4! *dun dun dun!*
Looks good, I hope that they will use this for a Wii game if they want to test out this engine... This one has more of the original feel of RE, but the only problems is that its a bit like DMC in terms of monsters.

call me crazy but i laugh when i kill zombies.
their headshots are funnier than humans :P

This prototype has much smaller environments it seems, plus it has less enemies too.
I remember this vid from mad long ago, prolly shortly after RE:0's release... this is when they were still using the Resident Evil Remake engine on the GC... you can tell the similarities between the two games, everything from the sound effects to the character animations and environments. Very impressive though, even better looking then Remake and Zero and they were no slouches in the visuals department either.
I kinda miss the old RE style a bit because, as proven by this demo, it makes the game a helluva lot scarier... I'd shit myself if i had to go up against a spook like that and little demonic babies LoL. The dynamic camera system shown in that demo, along with switching to the over-the-shoulder 3rd person view when aiming, could really make a return to the more classic RE style work alot better... that and changing up the controls so that you have full 360 control when you're walking and running so that your character doesn't handle like a tank.
RE:5 on the other hand is shaping up to be one of the big action games of '09... it's taken the gameplay of RE:4 to a whole new level and is now closer to a 3rd person shooter than a survival horror game in the classic sense of the genre.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
