Now Nintendo has announced that they are working on Wii ware titles and Miyamoto has finished his last orignal wii game idea with wii music - I would love to see new 2D Mario game.

What better way to get those wii owners that aren't online to get into wiiware, does anyone think this will happen?

It is a possibility but with nintendo you never know.

It could happen... I think the main series would be better fitted to the DS.

I hope so... I also hope they revive a few things also...

Kombo wrote an article about just this possibility a few months back, but it was more of a pitch than anything. In the end, the only objections I can really think of to the possibility is that Nintendo's not too interested in digital distribution just yet (as the profits are miniscule compared to what it's raking in right now). WiiWare and Virtual Console seem to exist mostly to pull in 3rd parties, and to defend against anything Microsoft and Sony do on that front.

But it'd be interesting if they decided to do it.

Not much chance of that with it capable of selling between 15million and 20million if it was released on DS instead and at a higher price.

A 2D Mario game for the WiiWare would be awesome. But I don't think we will see something like that anytime soon....

It seems likely, but I would rather a 2d Metroid. We just got our 2d Mario fix with NSMB.

That does sound like a great idea, I wouldn't doubt it'll happen in the future just how long is the big question.
