I doubt MK and SSBB will be able to use it but Nintendo may surprise us. And as far as I'm aware it allows you to talk to people while you are playing online. Not sure of any other feature yet so I will be watching this thread as much as you.

Animal Crossing is so far the only confirmed game that will be compatible as of now... I don't think they'll put it in smash and MKwii...

The conduit is using wii speak.

Wii Speak works like a community microphone. Everyone in the room can speak instead of requiring individual headsets. sophisticated sound cancellation hardware/software is built in so that only your voice is picked up and transmitted, not the in game audio coming across your speakers.

I hope they somehow do backwards compatibility for MK and SSBB, but I think we are sol.

Though nearly every online gaming going forward will.

Wii Speak is just like any other Microphone, except you don't hold it right in front of your face.

So far, the only games confirmed to use it are AC and Conduit, though I would expect pretty much all online games released after November to have the option. I mean, why wouldn't they?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

So another area where Nintendo makes a revolution, bye bye old mircophone crap

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

I wouldn't exactly call it a revolution, more than I would call it finally realizing that the average joe desn't want headsets, and the tech is finally cheap enough.

When I go online and want to chat, I get my phone and put it on speaker phone, however, then I need the game volumn lower so I can hear/speak to the other person.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Yeah I would love for Smash to have Wii Speak but I doubt there would be an update to allow it to work with it. Kart would seem like a good choice too but I'm not set on 12 people talking at a time lol. Other then that it should turn out great for AC and The Conduit.
