Bungie Hints at New Map Editing Options and Bots for Halo 3
Could a major Halo 3 upgrade be in the works?

Gamasutra is reporting that developer Bungie has been awarded the Edge Award for Interactive Innovation for Halo 3. Bungie was unable to attend the awards ceremony at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, but they sent their acceptance speech in video form. As you can see by watching the video above, Bungie never misses an opportunity to tease us with upcoming content.
A substantial portion of the video, hosted by former 1UP news editor and full-time Scarab Lord Luke Smith, hints at the possibility of including non-player characters from the single-player into Halo 3's multiplayer levels. The NPCs themselves remain stationary for the most part, so it's hard to say if they will have full bot functionality. The most interesting part of the video is at the very end. Is that a bare bones area for people to design their own levels? Can that be used in conjunction with the single-player bots to create our own custom campaigns? We have no idea what's going on just yet, but our curiosity is certainly piqued.

Being able to design my own single-player map and populate it with enemies would be AWESOME! Would breathe new life into Halo 3 for me.
