Forums - Nintendo - Wich game i should buy? Okami or FF:IV

Okami is one of the best games I have ever played. Its only for "hardcore" gamers though, if you give up on a game at the first frustration - don't bother.

I'm sure FFIV is good, but its much more "run of the mill". Miss Okami, and you miss a real gaming experience.

I would choose FFIV over Okami every time but I'm actually not a huge fan of Okami.

I'm an averagely large Okami fan, and I still think FFIV DS is the superior game.

Take from that what you will.

No matter what, don't buy an old version of FFIV, and especially don't buy it on the Playstation. It's not the same thing, unlike what the DS marginalization crew would have you believe.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Good choice :).. Okami deserves the sales.

The more I play FFIV, the more I realize just how much FFVII was based off this game. Especially the music. It's almost like playing a FFVII reimagining for someone who never played FFIV before. That's just my take.

As for Okami, it's a fantastic game. My one issue is the game just takes about 10 hours too long. I know that isn't a common complaint for anyone in pretty much any game, as we usually want our games to last longer, but in this case, I feel a lot of people, including myself, didn't ever finish Okami just because after a certain point, something just happens that makes us lose interest. I point to the Wii channel that clocks average okami play at 20 or so hours, as reported by Kotaku. If the game was 25 hours long, I'd say it was perfectly balanced perfection. Now, I say it's over-long perfection, with the only major flaw being pacing.

As for FFIV, as it stands now, it's passed Elite Beat Agents as my favorite DS game. That's big for me.

I just bought Okami a couple of days ago, and all I can say is wow! It's such a great game, and I'm only at the beginning. With fantastic gameplay and gorgeous stylized graphics, you can't go wrong with Okami.

Plus, Okami needs all the sales it can get.

This.

Plus, any Zelda fan should own Okami. :P

Actually, I like Zelda games but I wasn't a fan of Okami.  I think the thing that turned me off was the 20 minute cut scene at the beginning.

Okay, let me get this straight.

The long ass, boring tutorial at the start of Twilight Princess (and pretty much every Zelda game) is fine, but the cutscenes at the beginning of Okami aren't? Gee, if you can't even wait through a 20 minute cutscene to play a fabulous game than you might as well sell all of your games and buy Big Beach Sports.

If I remember correctly you're actually doing something while reading text in the Zelda games while in Okami you're just reading text.  By the time I actually got to play Okami I had already lost interest.

-edit-

And don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a fine game, I just have excessive cut scenes.

Good, I like your decision.

Also, I generally keep my friend requests in a queue, and I'll later decide whether or not I like the person and whether they're worth adding (my friend's list is VIP, baby!). If I get to know you better, I'll add you. Also, read my signature.

Right now I have 17 friend requests pending so don't feel left out.

Well, thaks to all of you. Soon (as soon as my game arrives, becuse i order on an online videogame store) you will see my new game in my game colection!

Got it Montana, im new here, thats why i have not read your signature (that and i dont know read very well the English laguange).

Probably to late but I would say Okami;...Before you know Okami will be a game hard to find....FFIV will probably be easy to find for some years.
