The PS3 and 360 aren't doing bad.. they just can't compare to the Wii.

Someone asked why are HD consoles struggling? It's the middle of summer haha. Without huge mainstream appeal they are going to have issues. Wii and DS? Huge mainstream appeal and every week is a holiday.

Anyways DS at almost 300k is ungodly. This is just unprecedented. And Wii following closely behind. I mean awhile ago I said aroudn this time PS3 would have evened the market out in Europe/Other but that doesn't appear to be happening and looks like it never will. I think 360 is preventing that in a few ways. Taking sales away from the PS3. Until PS3 can knock out the 360 here it has no chance of knocking out the Wii. And if this doesn't happen soon Wii will run away with all the buyers... just like DS is doing to the PSP.

I mean I thought only this time this year I could say that the Japanese market was closed... but it's looking awfully close to a very Wii Europe/Other with no chances of the others. But there's always a glimmer of hope. But not if this continues.

People may not be surprised by this, but Wii is gaining like hell in Others.

Q4 07 - 2.7M - 43% Market Share
Q1 08 - 1.7M - 42.5% Market Share
Q2 08 - 2.4M - 48% Market Share

Last month - 56% Market share

Somebody must not have told the 179,005 people who bought the wii that there are no games coming out for it and that nintendo is losing it's steam.

Software up, Nintendo dominate like always

Just incase anayone missed it, the Wii has re-taken the lead in Itally with this weeks sales.

With sales like this, Nintendo must be happy.

Trust me there are no supply issue with any console here in Sweden atleast and probably not anywhere in Scandinavia.

Wow, at the top 5. Nintendo has really dominated this week in others, undeniably. Software especially. It's hard to believe numbers like this would ever be possible for the company just two years ago.

Just the 3rd party games and Wii Fit would be enough to keep Nintendo dominating the rest of this gen, in others, imo. They freakin love the casual stuff in others.

Wii Sports 2 spells nothing but doom for those still holding out a shread of hope that the Wii won't win this console cycle. The Wii could move DS type numbers for a few weeks after that launches, if supply is there.

So PS3 Platinium games did nothing? All of them (R&C, Uncharted, HS, Motorstorm, Resistance) actually dropped this week in sales.
