Quit lying, Edouble. We both know you want Symphony of the Night on top.

SotN on top? I didn't even know it was on the list to be ranked with the other games. I figured it was just in it's own catagory since it's obviously more than just a video game.

Now it has been, two games have scores of 99.

This sucks the nintendo fanboys have gone and dropped the rating for KH and FFVII again, I hate that so much.

Seriously why do you care so much? Anyone concerned with stupid fake scores on this site really needs to go get a life.

But that is no different than what was happening last night? Where OoT went from 8.41 to under 7?

Personally, I would like to see KH in the top list, since it is my favorite game of all time.

I agree with DKII

Why are some scored on a 100 point scale?

So now we have scores well above 10, and it still isn't hacking, still isn't a problem!?

I am sorry, but what a joke... I mean, you people are great with sales tracking. VGChartz has become almost the definite source for those numbers. But please, stay clear off the rest, if you don't intend to work on it for real! Because amadoristic atempts like these at other things are only going to reflect negatively on the core of your site. Which is a shame.

What if the recent media exposure had been this week? I imagine how badly people must be laughing at NeoGAF...

I'll repeat: do it for real, or don't do it at all. The fact that you ignored rampant fanboyism and said there was no problem, when it was pretty clear that there was a problem, with double voting and all, only makes it worse. Makes you wonder whether sales numbers are dealt with the same way.

Read above.

I care, because I like this site, and it's joking material right now, which is a shame. Also the way the hole thing was handled, raises serious issues about the site's credibility. It's not as if there wasn't any warning that this was going to happen.

Finally, I've always wished there was a game IMDB, because user reviews and scores can be far more interesting than critics. But this has got to be positively the lamest attempt ever at it. Which again, is a shame - VGChartz deserved better than that.

VGChartz deserved better forum software, where the answer to "it doesn't work well on browser X" wasn't "well, that's all fine and dandy, but it's not a priority because of sales". If that's the priority, and it should be, don't waste time developing lame forum software, just integrate it with on of available alternatives like phpBB. Look at how long it took to get us a lame search feature; look at other forums; see the difference? The site also deserved better answers to problems like "the web page frequently finds it interesting to show historic data from 1911", rather than no answer or fix at all. And now this. We were asked what should be done to improve, and suggestions were simply ignored. We were told several times that the current system was just fine. Well, look at how fine it is.

It just makes the site look childish and totally unprofessional, which is a shame, because the data is apparently pretty good, and nowhere else to be seen. You have struck a potential gold mine here, don't waste it with feature creep.

The reason scores are jumping around so much is that you can actually tell the server a value larger (and possibly smaller in the cases of scores dropping) than 1-10. Those games over 10 have been given score up in the thousands, and it is possibly the games that have dropped rapidly have been given scores below 0 (ie negative).

This is a server side bounds checking issue, while it isn't a critical exploit, should never have happened (not that I'm always the perfect programmer). A single line of code would fix this.

As for the issue of the voting system anyhow, as mentioned before, a single vote per user is how it should be implemented.

Huh. While I do believe Crono Trigger is one of the best RPG's ever (So hard to call anything the hands down best), I don't see it being a 9x multiplier of perfect.

Though Zelda... "Ocarina of time? Are you kidding me? I can count the Polygons. I have counted the polygons. Do you want to know how many there are?" - F@nboy$ online.
