This has been confirmed by Yahoo.

both of these sites are very reliable. So, im guessing all the consoles were sold in the regions not really monitored like Russia, England, etc.

Ioi already has this information on the site: it's shipped, not sold. And while Russia is a possibility, how can you think that England is "less monitored?" It's one of the most developed nations in the world :p

Shipped not sold. We've had a number of these topics already !

Uh? Come on you of all people should know that the 5.5 million units shipped was of March 31st 2007 and it's been widely reported to be about 7 million shipped as of now. You're surely not saying Sony didn't ship anymore consoles to retailers after March 31 are you?

Didn't we state something about a ban for people lifting this topic al the time?

I mean it is just the ordinary PR numbers that all the manufactorers deliver. Just as Microsoft said that they have shipped 10 millions xbox360 at the end of 2006.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

Maybe they didn't need to.

Until Sony confirms they shipped 1.5m units during the past 3 months, I'd be very skeptical about it.

Every report, even by Sony still has the PS3 around 3.5~4.0m at best sold to consumers, why are they making systems that cant sell?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

read the methodology section at the bottom of the website.

Why hasn't this been locked yet? I think he understands now.

It would be nice if articles like that clarified between "shipped" and "sold to consumers". Otherwise, it causes confusion, especially to the layman.

-Maya: Nick... what does "Sucksores" mean?
-Phoenix: No idea...

Obviously no one was prepared for the PS3 to take Kyrgyzstan by storm. Though rarely tracked for sales due to it's poverty stricken economy, this nation of 5 million people fell in love with the PS3's blu-ray player, purchasing it en mass in anticipation of the day they could also afford high def televisions and electricity. And don't expect the PS3 sales to slow down anytime soon. There's still 3 million more Kyrgyzstanians who have yet to get one!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
