As bad as the 360 is doing it is doing better than its predecessor, there is no quantifiable measure in which the PS3 sales in Japan are impressive.

 

Because it releases next week and some people probably want to buy it now, rather then during the rush when the game releases?

As for his PS3 comment, he says "given the market in Japan", which therefore causes his prior statement to make sense.

Did you read Kowenicki's post, 360 sales have been on the rise for the past two months. I stand by my original statement. What does ToV have to do with anything when the game isn't even out yet. If ToV was out and the sales were increasing because of it, I'd agree with Montana's assessment but that isn't the case.

 

 

So you're discounting the possibility that people will buy a system with a game they want on the horizon? It is entirely in the realm of possibility that people really want ToV (and even IU) and are buying 360's now to play something like LO or BD first.


Example. I had a friend who wanted GTAIV and was going to buy a PS3 for it. However, he really wanted to play Uncharted, Heavenly Sword and R&C as well. So he bought a PS3 in Mid - March to play those other games before GTAIV came out. Yes he is only one person, but I'm sure there are quite a few of those type of thinkers out there.

Guys, however much I hope it isn't so, Montana is probably right. The PS3 and 360 have erratic boosts based on games and news, but consumers are fickle for these consoles in Japan. It's very likely neither console will post steady numbers worth mentioning without drastic measures being taken.

That said, the 360 could maintain these figures. Afterall they still suck, as do the PS3s sales, horribly.

I still do believe that Microsoft made a great move getting these RPGs if for nothing else, it'll make me, a 360(not microsoft /spit) fan, very happy with their gaming division, and it makes me believe that they are taking real steps to broaden their userbase and please their fans, who have screamed for RPGs since the original Xbox launched and was stigmatized as a FPS/Madden player.

hahahah 360 fanboys out in full force huh?

360 sells suck REALLY bad thats the end of it... ps3 sales suck for sony yes but are AWESOME for M$ in japan. 360 has all these RPGS announced for it and it still cant sell in japan.. theres just no hope sorry.

Yeah thats right cos the PS3 is at 2.3m in Japan and the 360 is at 0.64m... and in the States the PS3 is at 5.46m and the 360 is at 12.09m!!

You sir are the fanboy.   The 360 has way surpassed the original XBOX in a shorter time period and no amount of juvenile garbage like that you have just posted can alter the fact that the 360 is doing quite nicely in Japan considering. 

well dno has a point -weak one though-

the way he posted it pisses off , i agree, besides the biggest rpgs are not out yet :)

but the fact that xobx sales are good is not right ,, even if it sell 5000 each week

2 years for 0.64m is bad ,

and 5.46m  for one year is not that bad

Please people the fact that the 360 finally has a 5.5k week is not good no matter how we put it. Even if it keeps this rate untill 3 years it would still strugle to reach lt. 1.5 million and I doubt thgat it will...

 

edit: Oh , and silly me. How could I forgot? PSP is still king baby, just like Duke Nukem was once :P

What the Sony fans are afraid of is that people in Japan may be starting to realize that the 360 is now the lead platform for JRPGs.

Evidence: Rather than big bump right when a JRPG releases the hardware sales are gradually improving. People in Japan starting to say hey I can get a 360 for XXX JRPG and I also get to enjoy a pretty good backlog of JRPGs and I also have a nice slate coming pretty soon as well. This will also lead to more being developed for the 360 and the cycle continues.



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I notice the DS had good week. Usualy it sells 40-30,000 units a week (due to the saturation)
