 After doing a bit of research today i can confirm this is bullshit.

I trecked around London like a nut job walking into every electronics supplier and even Blockbuster ( i know, i know)

while my brother in NY did this too. He found the PS3's were everywhere and i found the same here in London. No evidence at all to believe there is a supply re-straint. Supply restraint means there are none nowhere, not the local gamestop that had only 4 in anyway has sold out. Restraint means like what happened with the Wii there were none to be had anywhere and you would have to go to a different country to get one. And the icing on the cake, i spoke to a worker at Amazon who explained to me they have loads of PS3's in stock and haven't had any signs of a shortage in fact sales have been normal with the 40GB version doing ok.

So i think you might need to re-evaluate what you mean by shortage

Just  a helpful suggestion Falkano, supply constraints are in America, not Europe. PS3 sold just as well in Others as it always did. And even then, anectodal evidence does not equal actual evidence.

terrible sales for the PS3 this week... ouch! There is a big need of exclusive games for the sony console.

Looks like all the "extra" sales the PS3 received when MGS4 was released are all disappearing. Another mess up on Sony's part. Looks like MGS4 might be multiplat after all.

Hey just noticed that 360 NA sales just overtook PS3 NA sales for this year. Yea so much for SONY domination!!!

Well there is major shortages to the ps3 in Norway, but norway is to small to make a difference. I dont know if this is the case in other places in europe though.

There's about 800KM from the longest south to longest north. Probably 20 of them will be within 100KM of him, and I doubt he would go further than that away.

There's about 20 Ps3's at the Elkjøp next to me (as of yesterday). There were about 25 at my closest Spaceworld.

There was about 10 at the closest Expert.

 

And no, I didn't visit this many stores for games, but patrons for my printer.

 

i just checked their websites and it says sold out, when i say i checked 200 stores you didnt think i actually went to the stores?Oh and there are very few stores tat get a shipment today

I just called them to check (I don't speak Norwegian, so it was kind of difficult), and they have 12 Ps3's in stock.

 

I checked 2 other ones too, one had 5-10 and one had 5-20. As you said yourself, their websites suck and aren't really updated.

 

Just call them, they said they have Wiis in stock, but call them. They don't.
