I know amazon sales dont matter and all, but seeing the 80 GB PS3 at #2 and the 40GB for the top ten (for the first time in a long time), then to see these numbers...ummmm...huh?

I know they are a small percentage, but that still seems a bit off. The numbers aren't just low, they are ridiculously low. Are we sure this isn't just because the numbers had possibly been overtracked in the past, and this is how it's being corrected?

You can't rely on those rankings. For example, NCAA football has been low ranked since release but it doesn't sell as badly as Amazon would indicate.

I'm not trying to rely on them, but maybe just to give a general indication.  If I based it solely on the that, then the PS3 would easily be the best selling system (including DS).  Instead its easily the WORST selling system.  So I'm not saying, "HEY, AMAZON SAYS PS3 is number 1, vgchartz is way off!", but rather, "What the heck is going on when PS3 is #1 on amazon, but selling terribly (apparently) everywhere else?"

Owner of PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, and 3DS

maybe because of the price drop of the 360 or sony have shortage.

ps3 is going to have a few bad weeks in america and europe because they are clearing out the 40gb ps3 for the 80gb that was announced at e3. also 360 numbers must be fixed! according to VG, there are no 360's on shelves!!

I notice the gap is up to 5.53 from 5.40 as well. So not only did the PS3 sell through estimate drop like a rock but there was about a 0.07 down adjustment as well.

What is irritating is the bouncing around of the X360 number. When the European numbers came in, X360 lost around 30k sales in the total. 2 hours later, the NA data appear and with 80k sold, the number jumped 120k...

There really should not be that constant number fiddling to try and match shipping numbers/NPD numbers. Make a thread at the end of every quarter where you "reset the numbers" once and once only.

(It is clear that the PS3 was overtracked a little  - in Europe, not in NA, and the x360 is overtracked - in NA, not in Europe where it is undertracked).

thats mean 360 have shortage also ???

Shortages?.....I'm guessing there weren't any reserves in the lot somewhere. Why would they let sales get that low? I'm about to break out laughing. I know there isn't THAT much demand, hehe.....Okami sold more in the 1st week! OK, OK, I'll stop......hahaha. That's really weird.

I actually might get a PS3, 360 is startin' to piss me off. It broke one of my games today!

how is it irritating? the numbers need to be adjusted and corrected or they will be very inaccurate! although i do agree with you that the 360 numbers are always bouncing around!
