I think they charge less for games on PC because they believe that kissing the customers butt will keep them from pirating it.

Or more accurately, they believe that anything that is a perceived injustice of a PC title, such as required internet connection, will cause a crusade for PC gamers to pirate the software in revenge.

It's ironic that the very thing PC gamers do to protest poor treatment from developers is what is causing them to get the poor treatment in the first place.

It's like if Too Human was 65 dollars instead of 60, we all staged a protest in which we didn't buy Too Human, but instead went out and bought Carnival Games, all the while passing around the same two copies of Too Human, each playing it for 2 days, and at the end of our experience we sent emails to the developer with epic fail cats in them explaining how they'll never succeed in the hardcore gaming industry now, thanks to this insult.

??? I think you are stating to lose it Zen :p

The price difference has nothing to do with piracy. I think $0.99 music proves that. It didn't do much for people who want to pirate music.

The difference is the dev's don't have to pay to develop PC games. There are no royalties payed to MS, Sony, or Nintendo.

In PC gaming you pay the hardware cost up front. In console gaming, you pay as you go.

I did,nt like the first one so I will wait for reviews before buying.

who thinks it will actually have good, non-boring gameplay, and being non repetitive

I think I was in the minority, but I hated Far Cry. I thought the VA was cheesy, the story sucked, the gameplay was unbalanced, and the difficulty was cheap. I felt the game was over-rated due to it being the first decent "next-gen" game released.

That is just my opinion. In the end, I still did enjoy it only slightly less than the single player game in Halo 3. Both games I would recommend a pass though. I wonder if part 2 will fix some of those issues.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

It will be much better and cheaper on PC.

It always sounds like every FarCry 2 PC version owner will experience better graphics, but this is wrong.

Sure for gamers with high-end PC it will look better, but not for everyone.

@Barozi
i agree man, way more console owners than people with a good enough PC to play far cry 2 on its highest setting

I never played the original, but I don't think FarCry 2 is going to have much in common with it. They have thrown out all of the characters and the setting from the first one and Crytek is no longer developing the game. Crysis is more of a true sequel to FarCry imo. I gather Ubi retained the rights to the name after publishing the first few games and decided to use it to push a completely different game which is actually doing some quite interesting things (In this interview they talk about how the story will be somewhat dynamic http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3727/redefining_game_narrative_.php)

I wasn't holding out much hope for this game as it looked like another generic shooter till i read that interview. Now I'm hoping for an evolution of Dues Ex albeit with a completely different setting)
