Whether dvd is needed or not isn't relevant. It's the overall gaming experience. Are you satisfied with your PS3 that has mandatory installs? if yes, then bluray is a good gaming standard. Are you satisfied that RPGs and cgi heavy games will require more than 1 dvd to fit in? if yes, then dvd is a good gaming standard. Both has up and down, dvd has less storage but will improve load times and other short falls of bluray, and bluray has more space but requires installs to obtain par with dvd gaming. Later with optional install available on the 360, games on DVD will probably be much better than blu-ray for loading and stuffs.

THe reason your game reaks is because boinking hos killing cops and being a gangster is so last gen.  Now its about being a rockstar or a cool killing machine with a rank (Rock band, giutar hero, halo 3) or playing sports.  Being a prick steal cars was never cool.  Being 50 cent or snoop dawg with a cool ride doesn't come from stealing but talent and hard work.

Xbox has live we can download better stuff than you can imagine. Soot are commercials make you wished you were married or have a hot girlfriend(axe deoderant) you only wich you could see live. I could download mcgiever for crying out load. You can't even find him on the net(bittorrent). Why because it came out before your the net even went main stream. Bad news everyone final fatasy will never come out with 13 on ps3 why because it already came out as a ps 2 game years ago in japan and the cell is so retarded they cant get the killer graphics to work. the reason ps3 has so few games is the architecture of the PS 3 was invented by a japanese scientest who thinks machines can one day replace women. Sorry jap but no man gona want to clone himself and install his wifes hard drive into the clone so he can have a son. He would rather find your sister and marry her. Oh and blue ray will fail because of dvd and the fact that a dvd 9 boot leged in china has more movies than ps3 million sellers. In response to the original post, if MGS4 was on 360, it would require disk changes AND longer install times than the PS3 (Blu ray has a faster read speed than dvd)

this thread is kind of irrelevant due to:

1) dvd- blu ray= blu ray is far better in terms of quality and storage
2) Just because it take 35-40 seconds to change disks, does not mean nothing else will require loading/ There probably will be further sections that require loading or that will be slower.

So overall, blue-ray is better but if you really dont mind getting up and swapping discs as well as having further load times after each disk change, then dvd is better :)

 We went over that already, the PS3 2X BD is SLOWER then the 12x DVD in 360.

But only a little slower than 8x.

It's not the disk swapping, it is the physical space taken up by a 6 disk game or so.

Convenience is another way to put it.
