I bought a DS lite 2 - 3 years ago. Had fun with numerous titles of Castlevania, Mario Kart, Advanced Wars, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and FFVI on GBA port. I had my fun, then i decided to sell it after i noticed it having 2 - 3 month old layer of dust on it. I really liked the Resident Evil Deadly Silence for it, one of my faves

The DS has a more expansive & diverse library. It's durable, can be charged with that USB cord you put into digital cameras.

One problem with the PSP is, too many people use it as an emulator. The library is good though, but one drop......bye bye PSP

Games you won't get anywhere else.

Clamshell/self protecting.

Most third party support.

Touch screen is fun.

Most Games.

Let me telling you why not get a DS:
1) Buttons are very small and the L and R are a little tricky to press in fast paced action games
2) Playing online can be a pain if you need the Nintendo Wii Fi adapter
3) Not as durable or immortal like the old Gameboy
4) Even with a wide and high quality library, the amount of shitty games can discourage you
