I can see it going either way. I'm sure they're under tremendous pressure to release the game by Christmas of this year.


There was an updated version of the trailer like last month. And it still ahd the 2007 date at the end with the little joke. They could have removed it if they so wanted, but they didn't.

But it's not relevant, as Erik Aston brought up more compelling information.

Did we ever get the whole story on that? It's been proven that there are in fact 2 versions of the trailer (see here), but I haven't heard it confirmed that the new version was actually released when we thought.

It's been proven as an updated trailer pretty much everywhere.

You can't just fake added particles and new character models...it's a new trailer.

Granted, not much is different, but it is different.


I think Konami just wanted the trailer to pass as normal...make people think nothing has changed, because in reality, not much really did change. They just wanted a good trailer with the up-to-date graphics that will be in the final game.

But it is a new trailer nonetheless...apparently some people take Kojima's word as their Bible.

There were comparison pics posted and it definitely looked like there was a difference in textures between the two versions. The length and content was the same though. I'll see if I can dig up comparison shots.

So Sony is forcing the game out prematurely to try and save their dead horse of a system? Guess we can look forward to plenty of patches to fix this game after its released.

 Yes, the content of the remastered trailer is the exact same. It's just been remade with the newer build of the game engine to run with a solid frame rate (the old trailer was like an old person walking), some added effects such as smoke and sparks, and mainly just better in all ways than the old trailer. 

Whether or not the game will come out in 2007 or not I can't say. This was just a remastered trailer of the old one so I'm somewhat doubtful on the 2007 thing at the end remaining. . . But who really knows apart from Kojima himself...
