In a recent GT interview with Scott Rohde/SCEA VP Product Development. He said they are already running beta tests with 256 players in studio. I'm not sure what this means in term of development buy it can't be a bad thing. I know KZ2 has been having online matches for one year, if that gives an idea to how far along Zipper is.

Maybe when you think about the fact they could have been working on this game since late 2005 and definitely since late 2006, it will become a little easier to believe them. The only real challenge here is to figure out how build servers that are able to communicate with 256 PS3s simultaneuosly (sp?) and aren't too expensive. Other than that, the actual gameplay and game programming problems are pretty standard.

Why can't we beleive them. All we know is that they have not release a game for over 2 years, we have no idea how fast they have progressed

MAG is more of genre name then anything. Its good to finally have a name for games that arent MMOs but feature a retarded amount of palyers at one time.
Expect it to get a real title later.
