It seems longer than in the US, which in turn is longer than it is in Japan. Games are discounted the fastest in the Japanese market due to the relatively front loaded sales of all games in the region. |
Yeah, it's terrible here in Europe, well at least in the Netherlands where I live. I mean, I have yet to see any Wii games that have had a significant pricedrop, save for some odd titles is certain specific shops. A lot of stores are even still selling GameCube games at full price, and not even the good ones either, but the crappy 3rd party ones. It's kinda terrible. There are lots and lots of good games I'd really like to play and would definitely get without thinking twice, if only they weren't so expensive. Same goes for DS games, they never ever seem to drop in price. All launch titles still sell for full prices. Yuck. Also, I think DS games are way overpriced as is, I mean 40 Euros when quite a few Wii games for sell the same price or 10 Euros more is kinda absurd.
Terrible shame American games won't play on my Wii, otherwise I'd import like crazy, especially since 50 American Dollars is roughly 30 Euros now. :( That's almost HALF the price. Extraordinarily crazy.

European gamers definitely get the raw end of the deal when it comes to console gaming.
I'm sure it is of little consolation that the European region is by far the most profitable for publishers and console manufacturers considering it seems due to both higher prices in addition to the favorable exchange rate relative to other currencies.
I think the main reason why this persists is due to the overall lower volume of games shipped and purchased in individual European nations, many of which must be localized before they can be sold. Not that that's any consolation either.
If I was a European gamer, I'd seriously consider buying US market consoles and games, seeing as how games typically ship last to the EU region in addition to the higher prices. I don't know how that would balance out between shipping costs and potential duty taxes though.
Where does the 20 percent off come from? Is it on all wii games?
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I just bought it last night. The 20% is an in store special on all clearance items. So in store it is $8.
I have to say, the voice acting (or random crappy noises while mouths move) are so annoying. Hopefully people will stop talking after the first couple stages.
Also, there are a few other good games that looked like they were on clearance at Toys R us too.
Elite Beat Agents - $10
Contra 4 - $20
MLB Power Pros - $20
There were a few PS3/X360 games too, but I don't remember what they were.
The site doesn't show EBA or Contra, but I saw those in the store I went to.
