Forums - Sony - Why is everyone saying MAG trailer was ingame? - Its 100% CGI

I wondered what Sony game would fuel fanboy rage after Killzone was released. I guess it will be MAG. The game was introduced for the first time yesterday with a trailer. Is that surprising? Sony/Zipper did not say it was in-game. Just like all other new IPs, information will trickle out up until its release.

By the way, do you think the Lips demo with Duffy was in-game? That looks like a really good exclusive IP for the 360. lol.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I doubt anyone is saying that that is gameplay. I believe what they were saying was that the cutscene used the game's engine. Like the cutscenes from MGS4. Which is definitely possible regardless of how many hand movements they do.

Yeah , I agree with this . But the graphics wherent all that amazing , its deffinatly doable . Its not KZ2 06 trailer or anything lol

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

MAG's concept is certainly very interesting. Whether that translates to an excellent game. And the footage clearly wasn't in-game but certainly could have been from an in-engine cutscene

More importantly, why do you care? You don't like the PS3 anyway. Just want something bad to say about Sony?

no ,,,most of 360 owners are fan of this type of games ,,,so they want it to be as bad as possible so they don't get tempted.

The 360 had a game like this announced at E3 2005. It is scheduled to be released in 2009 too.

It's Huxley. MMOFPS not an online action game like MAG (but a true MMO) but they will still have 200 people fighting at one time. Despite what Jack said 256 ppl is obviously capable on the 360.  IMO im kinda disappointed that they are making MAG. Seems like its something given to us to distract us from the FF13 announcement. Its working tho, alot of ppl in this thread are clinging to MAG likes its completely new and awesome. AM I the only one disappointed?

now its start as 256 players next year its will reduced to 100 after that its will come with only 50 players + lags .... i get sick from sony lies.

This statement is gold in sentance form :D Just LOL

@Tiga The concepts are slightly differnt I think, when I think mag, I think more along the lines of trench warfare. I think they'll be two different games.

And yeah I'm dissapointed, I don't like shooters that go for that realistic look or play... just not my thing. I need me more sci-fi ;)

It wasn't very good looking cg either. Why can't something like this be done on the 360? I am enjoying frontlines 25v25 so far. Yes 256>50.

Check Huxley

There just wasn't enough information on the game. 256 players sounds great but there was no in game footage and no explanation as to the purpose other than missions will exist.

You must be joking, that game will never come out, the GT site has its release date for 2006, and its still not out.  And the game looks and plays like a really crappy version of Unreal Tournament.  And we have seen no videos of these matches with 100v100.  The most i have seen are small mataches with 8-16 players.

Is it just me, or is MAG f'ing retarded. First, it's called MAG. Second, all they've shown is CG!

Its you, name of the game makes sense...

Hmmz who said that?

Rock on 2008 for one.

"Sony won with the announcement of MAG. 256 player online MMOFPS, the video was 100% in game play. PS3's are being bought by the truckload as we speak.
MAG announcement eclipsed the FFXIII being ported to X360."
