Because MAG is a system seller. FFXIII is more important than anything Sony has or will have releasing on their system besides Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto. How important does it have to be? It's one of the few titles that will actuall affect hardware sales by itself. MAG is not even close.

Sony were the only company to show a major new game(s) that have never been revealed before. God of War III, MAG, DC Universe (apart from a few screens of DCU). Sony were the only company to announce a new big game which we didn't know about. It is kind of ironic, because everyone kept saying that Sony were the company that had shown all cards.

Microsoft had the biggest shock. 88 minutes of nothing special, then 2 minutes of pure gold. VGChartz (plus some other sites I think) died.

I would say it was pretty close as to who won it. Microsoft won it for shock factor. Sony won it for announcing new games.

What did they show that was groundbreaking? I guess you are a fan of casual titles? Sony won easily. Infamous, MAG, 80gb for 399, video store. They owned everything MS had.

They stole the frigging exclusivity of PS3's most important game. You can damage control all you want, but that ALONE is enough to win E3.

Besides that the Netflix deal is enormous. Gears of War 2 was at least equal to Resistance 2.

Come on, they steal another PS3 exclusive, don't even get it released in Japan, and somehow they beat Sony's impressive showing of new and known games? MS fanboydom must be nice.

this is how i feel, sure sony had some big guns but in a week what people will be talking about is the ff13 thing not MAG or LBP and that , even if you dont like it, has given them the show

Sony announced 20 new titles? maybe to u if u live in a box. Everything Sony showed we seen already. Cept God of war and MAG and Sony didnt even have gameplay footage for those two games. Sony just blew this E3.

Microsoft won E3 easily.... a small trailer for god of war 3 with no in game footage and the announcment of MAG is simply not as good as microsoft getting final fantasy 13 and PORTAL 2 ......

how much will FFXIII push the 360? 100k launch week if that.  And you expect MAG to push more PS3s??  Because that was basically the bottom line this E3.  Sony got MAG, and MS got FFXIII.

Basically FFXIII's announcement hurt FFXIII more then helped either Sony or M$.  It hurt FFXIII how exactly???  Square's stock is already up and sales for the game when it release will almost definitely be higher than they would for a PS3 exclusive

 

 

Downplaying FFXIII on the 360 is just crazy.  It's a massive announcement and no spinning/damage control can change that.

I think some people are getting a bit carried away. Final Fantasy XII sold just over 5 million. Impressive? Yes. Earth-shatteringly amazing? No. Mario Party 8 has already sold more copies!

Final Fantasy XIII is a draw for the hardcore, but almost no-one else.

Aside from MotionPlus, I was not a fan of the Nintendo Conference

I could care less about GTA DS and I never really got into Animal Crossing for Gamecube.
