i think RPG fan reviewed it when it released in japan,they might of gotten the import

Well, in the review it says that 'The characters looked cleaner and more mature back on the SNES. The blocky, disproportioned, childlike models do not suit the game's mature story'. So i suppose that could have taken down the score for both story and graphics.

Don't get me wrong, I disagree with the statement. The graphics are some of the best the DS has to over, and certainly not Childlike.

The graphics are some of the best on the DS.  What is wrong with the story that made him give it only a 78.

Secret of the Star wasn't that great from what I heard.  I also heard LoL and WA3 were mediocre at best

 

Secret of the Stars was mediocre. I'd know, I wrote a magic FAQ for it (the spells have no descriptions in the game). Definitely not better than FFIV.

I wouldn't reallyargue with the other games on that list (save for that FF8 trash).

I feel like I know more about games then editors on website and in magazines most of the time.

The reviewer called the graphics 'childlike'. Perhaps made it hard for the reviewer to take seriously?

"No real complaints here. The game plays like the original; there aren't any camera issues or awkward configurations. You can use the stylus to move your character around and there are some added minigames that make use of it. That's all I have to say about that."

This lone paragraph here discredits his entire review. Reviewers are supposed to go into detail concerning the game's control mechanics in full detail, especially if its a remake where the control changes are the most important thing along with the graphical update.

The sad part is, this loser's review will negatively impact a couple people who planned on buying it based off his review and the Gamerankings (no matter how important you think it is) rating gets lowered more than it deserves.

Games usually have 1 or 2 bad reviews, but this guy has no basis for his review.

12 better 4th generation RPGs.  SNES era.

you should read MS Defense Force 1up review then.. not that their reviews are reliable in any way, but I like to see how many paragraphs the review has.. and the FFIV one is ridiculous

yeah reading it he just seems like an anti FF guy. They certainly exist. Just because most of the FFVII haters think that their favorite FF is so much better doesn't mean someone can't hate it. Think about it someone who just plain hated FFVII (or atleast claim to) even when it was out. They would give this same type of score.

It's obvious he played the Japanese version and simply disagrees with you guys. Sorry but it happens, get used to it.
