Forums - Nintendo - Alright Nintendo, lets see that disc slot illuminate!

Since Sony released their 2.40 update for the PS3 and Microsoft is rumored to have a huge update coming, I bet Nintendo has one up their sleaves also!

Any idea what it could be?

At first, I thought this thread was about having the disc slot illuminate when you're playing a game, which is something that'd be pretty cool (and a waste of energy).

This thread was slightly a joke XD But, hey! Anything could happen.

I don't really see the need to compete with a firmware update...

That said, it's likely the way they'll facilitate whatever storage solution they come up with.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

DVD playback is needed.

Hey, don't complain!

We already got blinking disc slots everytime someone put another Harry Potter Mii to the "A Famous Wizard" contest.

Can't wait for the results of the "Socrates" contest, only 5 more days...What will the winning Socrates Mii look like? Steven Spielberg?

okr; if you mean Mr. Socrates the video game not the greek Socrates then I will think your cool, that thing was amazing.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

*NO* new channels unless it comes with the rumored/promised/spoken of in hushed whispers storage space upgrade!

Good question. How about a better one. Why should Nintendo think they are above others of enhancing their console simply because they have a lead?

I've really never understood why so many people are ok just to allow Nintendo to get comfortable in their success.  One comfortability leads to lack of quality and second it leads to safer decisions.  Neither of which I like.  Nintendo should be saying hey these guys are letting out firmware updates, and I want my consumer to know we got their back as well to show that we have their best interests thus our brand stays high.  That's what I'd want a leader to think.  A leader of any market that is going to be there for awhile, says how can I further my success, not how I can simply maintain it.
